An Intense First Week Of 2022! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Hello everyone! Well, this was a wild week to put it very mildly… I ended up not having time to blog at all, so everything is in a single post so I can catch up once and for all.

Sunday

Starting with last Sunday, we spent the whole weekend actually working on the future room for our friend. This was supposed to be a small, simple job, but due to issues we found we had to strip the paint off the walls, plus we also found holes that need fixing, etc…

The three of us are doing all we can on our own, and our friend even removed all of the popcorn ceiling by himself which was hellish to do and took hours:

But as for the rest, ideally we need to hire someone –and fast. The first quote we got was stupidly high and out of eight leads no one else is getting back to us. We have just a few weeks to complete the room so it’s adding a bit of stress right now for sure, especially because even if we hire someone, we still have to paint it ourselves, install the closet system, etc… hopefully we won’t have to do the whole job ourselves. ๐Ÿ˜“

Monday

Monday was a great day that ended terrible. Like, the worst. ๐Ÿ˜… But first, let me get a cute snail photo I took on this day out of the way:

That’s one of my Cuban snails. I’ve grown extremely fond of them. I love the little ridges on their shells, the way they get their bluish bodies so stubby or so long, and how they shake their shells to get things off of them. I also have a few hatchlings of my own now and they are even cuter.

Anyway, as planned over the weekend, Monday evening our friend came over and we left for Kura Sushi in Aventura. This restaurant has a conveyor belt system that we were all very excited to experience. I dressed up a bit and off we went.

Side note, but being in the back seat of the car with my two most special people in the world in front, is probably the Littlest I ever feel. I know I’m not alone in this (there’s so much art in the community of precisely this thing, lol) but being in the back seat just playing with your toys, coloring, or playing video games, while your caretaker/s discuss complicated things you can barely begin to understand so it all goes over your head, is something that gives me and many other Littles the safest, coziest, happiest feeling –bonus points if it’s raining. Even if I’m grouchy, this always makes me feel better.

I brought Ramen Noodle along on that day:

As for the restaurant itself, it was an utterly lovely experience. I really thought this would be a place we would come to again and again. The conveyor belt was really cool:

The top belt (not visible here) brings specific orders to each table. The belt you see above is where food is always rotating and passes by all tables. I tried all sorts of things, both sweet and savory. This milk tart was one of my favorites:

I also tried takoyaki for the first time (didn’t like it very much) sesame balls, and these fried rice thingies which I liked so much, I ordered it twice:

And one of these wonderful things (who knows which?) made me, and only me, very brutally ill. And now none of us wants to go again to play food poisoning roulette with our bodies at this restaurant again. ๐Ÿ˜ž Even though we loved it so much otherwise. It was such a lovely experience until that happened.

Since now I will go into detail about being sick and it’s gross, you’ve been warned. Skip to Wednesday if you don’t want to read about that.

Tuesday

So actually this started Monday night. Around… 11:30pm. I started getting stomach cramps that felt like I was being simultaneously knifed and kicked in the stomach. This lasted a long time, until my body decided to empty its bowels spectacularly, to the point that there was a non-insignificant amount of blood mixed in.

Here Christopher began to do some research while I just lay on the bedroom floor trying to disassociate from my terrible situation. Since all of my symptoms to that point matched food poisoning that could be waited out at home (even the bit of blood) there was nothing to do but stay hydrated and wait.

In between the nausea, stomach cramps, fever and headache, I did not sleep much. When I did, sometimes it was on my floor futon, sometimes it was on the floor. Sometimes it was sitting on the toilet. At some point I could not hold things in anymore, and my body, quite done emptying out of one end, decided to switch gears and empty from the other. I vomited many times (lost count, really). When the sun started to rise I still felt atrocious. And right around then, my food poisoning cramps started to improve only for my period cramps to start. Bad ones.

Christopher stayed home from work, thankfully, as I would not have been able to look after myself. I was extremely weak (legs barely holding me if I went to the bathroom) and spent the entire day queasy and in pain. But I stayed hydrated, and in the evening I was finally able to eat a mild meal that he made for me:

After eating, I was able to shower, and spend time in the couch watching TV. I was so absolutely spent from being so very sick, that I had no problem sleeping heavily once it was bedtime despite having slept on and off all of Tuesday.

Wednesday

Wednesday I was on my own again. I was able to get out of bed and do a few things, including commission work. But I also had cramps all day from my period. It was still a slow, tiring day. I feel like I spent a lot of this week in some sort of pain or discomfort and a lot of exhaustion… still, compared to Tuesday, I felt pretty well.

Thursday

Thursday was exciting because my long-wished-for t-rex came in the mail! It’s so cool and massive!

Dinosaurs make me so damn happy. I love them. Itโ€™s like with my Charlie Bears. Just utter joy when looking at my dinosaur toys, the bigger they are the happier they make me.

OH NO

Anyhow, I put him on a high shelf with my baby t-rexes and raptors. Now I just have one left that is a must have: the apatosaurus. Hopefully I can get it before it disappears from shelves.

Date Night

Thursday was also date night. We had an AppleBee’s gift card, so we decided to go out. I had an appetizer plate for my meal.

Christopher had a sandwich… I think? I took this photo before his plate came.

We hadn’t been here in a very, very long time. It’s a bit of a shocker how much these prices have gone up. I know it’s not just here, it’s everywhere, but it’s bad. Still, we really enjoyed our meal. It’s nice to have a little outing like this once in a while.

After we got home, we played Smash for a while, and then watched Don’t Look Up. Really enjoyed the movie, and just cuddled throughout rather than working on my iPad as would usually be my habit. It was nice.

The Weekend

The weekend was wonderful. By this time, I had fully recovered from my food poisoning ordeal as well as from my period. And in the evening, the Yoshi Build-A-Bear plushie that I got as a Christmas present from my friend Island came in. He’s so cute!

Friday and Saturday our friend came to spend time with us. As always, it was lovely. We hung out for a bit on Friday; I watched the two of them play Smash (he wiped the floor with Christopher, repeatedly) and then we went out to Bento for dinner. Lately though, he’s been making an effort to spoil my blog photos… ๐Ÿ˜‘

He went home soon after dinner, but Saturday we all spent even more time together.

A lot of that day was spent watching our friend create a 3D render of our back porch. I was amazed by how fast he did this, even though it took a couple of hours, it was still incredible to me, and fun to watch. I worked on a commission while this was going on, and Christopher had fun playing some of the records he’d accumulated but not yet listened to. Once the render was finished, we went out to eat again. I will try to update this post with a few images of the render later, because it was so cool.

When we got back, we played Mario Golf Super Rush for the first time. It was pretty fun.

I took a break to make cookies, and then we played some more. Then we played Smash for a while, I even won once which was a complete fluke… Wish I got a screenshot because I’m sure it’s never happening again.

Also, I think by this point I’m gonna try to main Ludwig, I just like him a lot.

Playing Smash really hurts my drawing hand, so after a few rounds I just watched the two of them play. Unlike Friday, Christopher mostly wiped the floor with our friend. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

We might have all hung out today (Sunday) too, but our friend had a very early workday on Monday, like 4:00am early. So I spent today doing lots of chores while Christopher rested (but he did help me too, and drove me back from the grocery store, and made a really wonderful dinner for us).

Since soon I’m going to be looking after both of them, I really want to get back into taking care of the house properly and on a good schedule. So I washed all the sheets and towels, deep cleaned all three bathrooms and the kitchen, refilled the critter feeders and planted more grass for the cats, did the dishes, laundry, and grocery shopping, made the beds, took care of the animals… it was a lot of work, hours and hours, but I felt pretty satisfied with the results.

Tomorrow want to deep clean the snail tank, mow the lawn, and finish a couple of commissions. I also would like to go on my walks again since the holidays got in a way of them a lot.

Christopher should be home early since his booster appointment is in the afternoon… hopefully, we hear back from someone about the room work.

I’ll post at least one finished commission tomorrow but hopefully more. I’m so grateful to everyone for their patience! ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™€๏ธ

Swedish Meatball Day ๐Ÿง†

Today we went to IKEA! I want to move all my bags into the closet, so I got a couple of small KALLAX units. I brought Brioche along, it had been a while since he came on an outing with me.

I really didn’t feel well most of today, in between pain from my period and other stuff, and a headache that lasted most of the morning because I ran out of coffee, I was super irritable all day. Christopher did his best to cheer me up and the most of got for his efforts was me biting his head off at every opportunity. ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ’ง Poor guy.

Of course if you go to IKEA meatballs for lunch are a must. It’s the law.

Also did a little Walmart stop to get some stuff to redo my bathroom. Got the rest on Amazon later in the day.

For dinner, we had grilled cheese. Christopher was aghast at how they turned out and wanted to make sure I said so in this post (because he’s usually very proud of his grilled cheeses and I guess this was substandard for him, but I loved it. It’s such a good Little space meal).

Anyway that’s all I’ve got to share for today, I woke up in pain and I’m going to bed in pain, but I’m sure tomorrow will be better.

Summary Of The Last Few Days ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿž

Hello, everyone! I hope you’re having a happy Thursday morning. I decided to let a few days accumulate into a single post, since, well, I haven’t had much interesting stuff to share recently.

Christopher and I have been spending more time together in the evenings, and it has been lovely. Elliot keeps us company. He always comes to the couch when Christopher gets home. Unlike our other cats, Elliot tends to spend his entire day out on the porch and doesn’t visit me much, but he always comes in when Christopher gets home. I think he misses him.

We began our evening by playing Mario Party Superstars:

Christopher won, of course…

After video games, we watched Lamb. It was really freaking weird. The weirdness is not a problem, it’s great, but I felt like it built up a lot for no real payoff. It just wasn’t very scary either.

On Tuesday, my copy of Cupid Parasite arrived! Still a while until I get to this one. I’ll be playing my next otome the weekend after this one –the final fandisc of Code: Realize.

We will be taking a trip to a place that will be all decked out for Christmas, so it’s a perfect time to finally play Wintertide Miracles, especially with such a long car ride.

This is completely random, but I’ve been fooling around with wigs, and liked how this photo came out. ๐Ÿ˜

In the evening we watched the latest Paranormal Activity movie. It was okay. I had a little snack:

Yesterday I went on my walk, and to shop for groceries. I caught a couple of shots of this pretty butterfly on the way:

There were also several ducks foraging for food, and I got a photo and some video:

When Christopher got home, I had the smell of coffee and banana nut bread in the air. ๐Ÿ˜Š It was my first time making it and it turned out decently good:

Here is Cerise ready to try some:

Afterwards I made panko-crusted tilapia for dinner. It was pretty good.

Anyway as you can see I don’t have much interesting stuff to tell even when putting a bunch of days together. Right now, I am busy working on Christmas art for family. After that, I will resume commissions. I am also really, REALLY pumped for our upcoming trip. I pretty much cannot think about anything else…

Today I have to do my chores early, so I’ll wrap this up here. Enjoy your day, everyone!

Did A Lot Today! ๐Ÿ˜„

Good evening, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š Today I woke up full of determination. I got lots done! But to begin with, let me share something from last night. I ultimately picked Anise to wear the lovely dress made by Kitty. Here she is modeling it!

Because today I knew I’d burn plenty of calories on the porch, I skipped my morning walk. I didn’t mean to skip the evening one as well, but it got late and Christopher isn’t happy when I get home after sundown, so I’ll probably just get on my exercise bike after I finish writing this post. Anyway, the porch was the first thing on my day, while it was still kinda dark outside, and still somewhat cool. My first job involved moving all the bricks to a corner of the yard. This was a BIG job:

All in all it was 32 or so bricks, 22 lbs each. Perhaps a little more? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I could barely lift a single one, so I had to take them one at a time, and kinda f***ed up my wrists in doing so, but I did move them all. I also cleaned one part of the porch (no pressure cleaning) and moved everything from the other side, so I can pressure clean that area tomorrow. It’s so filthy:

Another thing I did was move my neglected little hanging plant to a spot where it will get more sun, and, being right next to the hose, be easier to water. I added more soil to the pot and just made it a little neater, it was a mess.

I fixed this little area, too, so now it is pleasant to look at again… ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒท

And I trashed many… many things that were in unsalvageable condition. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Those photos are from my stopping point for the day, but earlier, around noon, I took a break to make lunch for Christopher and I. He’d been playing video games and relaxing, so I wanted to treat him to something special. I made him rice balls. ๐Ÿ™โœจ๐ŸŒˆ

His were plain (that’s how he likes them) but afterwards I made some for me too, and these had tuna salad and spreadable cheese as choices of fillings. They were great!

During lunch and throughout my day I continued to read “Sprout”. It’s a curious little story (spoilers ahead, if you care) about a little boy who is obsessed with elephants. He’s a very peculiar child, who by a wide variety of displayed traits would definitely be diagnosed autistic by our standards today.

The book is overall funny, charming, and without very high stakes, until our protagonist decides to climb up a tree and have a 22 foot fall that nearly kills him. It’s not something I expected to happen in such a short story. While the tone doesn’t change very much, things feel so serious so quickly. In any case, it has a happy end, and it’s a charming little read.

Not only did I do all of this today, but I streamed Dungeon Keeper for one hour (to be shared in a separate post) and finally got through the town of Tickle (I failed, I think, about five times, two or three times in-stream!) and got some work done on a birthday present for a couple of my friends. I might finish that tonight.

In another note, I now have some snail shells on my shelf. These were buried and cleaned out by nature (except for the baby shell… sadly, this is the baby I shared a month or so ago. He did not make it, but I saved his shell). One of the other shells is an old Cornu Aspersum. And the second shell from the left is my sweet old guy who died a few weeks ago. I’m happy that his shell survived in the best condition of the three that I buried.

Now, being done with this post, I’m going to continue on to the rest of my housework, then exercise a bit, then get some writing in before bed. I’ve finally broken through a serious chapter hurdle and I’ve got to strike while the iron is hot.

First Outing With Mandie And Shelly! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‚

In between commission work and my life just being… overall, well, interesting/busy, blogging has been more in the back of my mind. As such, I’ve accumulated quite a few posts of happenings and things to share. Life has been a lot of fun, in multiple ways, and other than my recent griping about pretty inconsequential stuff at the end of the day, I’ve had a lot of reasons to feel happy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

One of the recent fun things I got to do is a first outing with both of my friends, Mandie and Shelly, at the same time. It was so much fun –and too short, but I had so much to do in the evening. Even as we got home, Mandie and Shelly sat with me as I began to work on dinner, and at least I spent a few more minutes with them that way.

It’s actually completely alien to me, to be cooking while talking with two girl friends, even if we are all Littles. It felt really nice.

We went to Flamingo Road Nursery, where Mandie and I went recently. Since we went too late last time and Shelly had never been, and we wanted to go on a hayride, it was a natural choice while that sort of event is still going on. As soon as we got there, we went straight to the hayride area:

I decided to bring Frito with me that day. I’d never taken him out before. Here he is waiting while we got our tickets:

And here are Mandie and Shelly! We felt very Little sitting on the hay with our stuffies and our feet hanging off the side.

Here are lots of scarecrow photos I took during the ride:

Shelly took a photo of me and Frito too:

After that, we walked around the nursery for a bit, and I took this photo of Frito among the sunflowers:

Then we had lunch in the cafe and made plans for afterwards: Starbucks and a bookstore. I took this photo in the cafe, before leaving, of our three stuffies together:

I meant to share a huge, amazing bookstore with Mandie and Shelly, and somehow directed us somewhere else by mistake. But this place, while much smaller, was too a treasure, and a lot of fun. Mandie and Shelly got multiple books, but as I’ve been quite broke, I just picked up a $1 book from the sale rack outside:

This place had truly wonderful finds, but the prices were $20 or so for anything worthwhile… that’s a little rough.

Anyway, it was loads of fun, and we already have plans for next time. I’m looking forward to it! ๐Ÿฅฐ

A Happy Saturday ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸฆŠ

I had a wonderful Saturday! I hardly know where to begin. One of the best things that happened is that the Little friend I had a sleepover with a while ago reconnected with me. It turned out she wasn’t ghosting me after all, but dealing with some serious issues. She really had had a lovely time during our visit just as I did. So we are trying again.

The funny thing is, on this same day, I was seeing my other Little friend. And I just couldn’t get into a good Little headspace because a part of me was still so sad about my other friend just disappearing. It’s hard to keep opening up when that happens. But right before I was due to meet with Mandie, Shelly showed up at the door and she had a little flower to give me and explained everything to me and wanted to try again and I was so happy I had to try so hard not to cry. Later I gave the flower to Mojito:

Shelly had to go back to work after that, but next time she, Mandie and I are all going to hang out together and have lots of fun. I can’t wait! But now let me tell you about the rest of the day.

After that I was basically walking on air as I got ready and my Little mood came rolling back. I also got Apple Juice ready in a proper seasonal outfit, as he was my companion for the day:

I also dressed up in a Halloweeny outfit for the first time this year:

Soon after I got ready Mandie arrived. Mandie’s outfit was super cute, I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture. Mandie brought her little bear, Trixie. I held them both on my lap for a photo:

Even though they were almost closing, we went to Flamingo Road Nursery. We had time for several cute photos, got a bunch of yummy snacks (like honey sticks, popcorn and pumpkin-shaped cake pops) and we picked some pumpkins too:

After that we just went around town being obnoxious. We went to Dollar Tree and to Starbucks and to Publix for wine. We got Happy Meals and then we went back to the house. There, Christopher had The Nightmare Before Christmas ready to play so as soon as we got there, we sat down to watch it.

Of course, we had our wine in sippy cups…

I was hoping to offer Mandie one of my Halloween sippy cups but they were still in storage.

To my delight, Mandie stayed the night. But I’ve been getting up so early that I was ready to pass out BEFORE 10pm which is like, unbelievably lame. Mandie was a good sport about it. Tomorrow I’m going to decorate the house while she keeps me company.

It’s really been a wonderful day and I hope we have many more like it. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ’• I’m really happy!

A Magical Saturday ๐Ÿฅฉโœจ

Today is finally over. It was an incredible, wonderful day! Christopher and I are both so exhausted we can hardly move or think straight. We had a lovely time with our friend doing all sorts of fun things, but I don’t think what we were doing mattered that much, just that we were together.

We really missed the sorts of days we’ve been having. I think we both thought at times maybe days like these were gone permanently. And, the exact way these days used to be, is in fact gone. Things change, those are memories. But I think these are even happier days and happier memories. I want to make so many more.

My day was off to a good start right from the get-go. I took my walk and came across a squirrel friend who had a big nut:

After my walk I did all my chores and changed into the outfit I prepared for today. I felt pretty cute in it.

Then I played Legend of Mana and worked on today’s warm-up while we waited for our friend to arrive to spend the day with us. Christopher also showed me a bunch of fun YouTube videos and we enjoyed that little time together.

Finally our friend was there and we headed out to a train store I’d long wanted to take Christopher to, but it was shut down for COVID until recently. I brought Heidi along today!

The train place certainly was fun, I took a lot of pictures:

They had a bunch of Thomas items but no Thomas Wood or Thomas Wooden Railway. However, these O-Gauge of James made my heart leap. I wish I could have bought either of them, I just love James so much.

But, I’ll always have my little wooden James, the first train Christopher ever bought me, on our outing to the train museum, and he will always be very special to me.

After the train store, our friend took us to a French place he knew well. It had a lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing (in particular, the cheese plate we started with) but service was rather poor. They were having a party, and it slowed things down to the point that we didn’t get our cheese plate until the 35 minute mark, maybe longer? And our main meal 15 minutes after that or so. We were so desperately hungry by then.

I forget what I ate… some sort of crรฉpe. It was good and that’s all that matters.

After this, we went to the house to hang out a little. Christopher napped while we checked the needed ingredients for dinner. Then we woke him up and dragged him out with us to shop for what we were missing.

I helped my best with dinner, while Christopher and our friend took care of the meat –the hard part– and some other stuff. I prepared rice (poorly, Christopher had to save it) and made pretty good chimichurri.

The picaรฑa was amazing:

Here it is served with the rice and beans:

And a final photo of it by itself (no Heidi) for good measure. It was so good, I can’t post just one!

I am WAY too full. But, my heart is also full. I feel so loved and looked after, and so happy. In a little bit I’m gonna be watching anime with Christopher while we cuddle, and then I’ll be falling asleep with these warm happy feelings. Tomorrow I’ll wake up full of energy and start the day with my walk… then the lawn… then some art. It’s a good life lately.

Date Night At The Village Tavern! ๐Ÿ’˜

Hi everyone! Today was a wonderful day. Just getting a lot done, we had a wonderful date night, and in general, little things here and there are just… making me very happy.

To begin with, here’s a morning photo of Tomoyo and Elliot creepily staring me down. They held their pose and stare for several minutes, it was rather unnerving:

Then I have a daily owl from today’s walk:

I published a new chapter of Meganeea today, with three illustrations. You can read it here if you would like. ๐Ÿ˜Š

In the afternoon I played Legend Of Mana for a little while. A while after that I had a big burst of energy/emotions for… reasons, that I desperately needed to walk off ๐Ÿ™ˆ so I took my second walk in spite of this insanity:

When I got back, Christopher was home. I was able to coax him into having a date night dinner out. So I put a new outfit together (parts of it are new) and I brought Vanilla Bean with me. We went to the Village Tavern.

I took this photo of Vanilla Bean in the car but she ended up looking kind of wonky. This also distracted me into not putting my seatbelt on until a few streets later. I’m not sure why, I’ve been forgetting that once in a while. I’m paranoid about wearing a seatbelt, so it’s weird.

Our wait wasn’t very long. I took this selfie of us while our table was being readied. I hope we can take photos like these without masks soon…

I felt like celebrating tonight, so I got a chocolate martini. Vanilla Bean had a sip too:

Rather horrifyingly for a $120+ teddy, she got some chocolate on her paw in the process. Thankfully it was easily wiped off! Well… ultimately I want to enjoy my stuffies, and take them on adventures, so the odd stain or such is not the end of the world if it happens. It’s just life.

I should say, this drink always does a number on me. I’d have to drink four glasses of wine to get as plastered as this one drink gets me, I don’t know why. Christopher says there’s vodka in it, which I never drink, so I guess that would explain a lot.

Needless to say I was absolutely obnoxious the entire evening, and yet in my drunken state managed to beat him at two rounds of Tetris. By the end of our game time, however, the pieces seemed to be going all in the opposite directions I wanted them to go. The connection between my hands and my brain was quite fuzzy. But I didn’t care, it was so much fun.

Tomorrow should be fun too. Goodnight, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Chilling With My Mom Tonight!

Today Iโ€™m at my momโ€™s, until Wednesday night. Itโ€™s my first visit to my mom since starting my new diet and exercise regime so I have to admit, I was worried about this visit. My mom and I snack a lot, we drink a little alcohol too, usually, and I donโ€™t exercise while I’m there. I could not let it happen this time. Iโ€™ve simply worked too hard for what I’ve accomplished.

So, I made sure to get my second walk in before leaving for my momโ€™s, though it ended up being slightly shorter and also a bit too late, enough to get me scolded for being out in the dark for almost an hour. Whoops. ๐Ÿ˜…

But I had fun on this walk. I went to the pet store and took some cute pet photos. First some ferretsโ€ฆ

The bunnies were the cutest though, by far.

I also photographed some of the fishies there:

On the way back, I came across a mother duck with her older brood of ducklings. They had all nested down for the night and I know I got too close. They were immediately on their guard and I felt guilty for having bothered them for my dumb photo. However, as I walked away, they settled down again.

Once at my momโ€™s, we talked for a bit and then she made dinner while I spent as much time as I could on the treadmill, about 30 minutes. In the end I didnโ€™t exceed my calorie goal โ€”by THREE calories! Lolโ€ฆ it was close.

My mom made milanesas. They were perfect!

Tomorrow Iโ€™m going to continue my exercise, even while I’m here. Iโ€™ll still going to be up at 6:20am just like other days, and go walk outside for an hour and a half. I forgot my coffee, so Iโ€™ll be getting breakfast at the gas station on the way back.

Something that has made me very happy is that my art continues to progress well, in spite of literally walking 3 hours a day. I suppose that was downtime for me anyway, in little bursts throughout the day. Instead, my mind now rests while I exercise. My vision gets to rest too. There are truly a lot of advantages to my new regime.

Anyway, goodnight everyone! Hope your week is going well. Weโ€™re almost halfway there โ€”and fall is nearly here!

Weekend Wind-Down ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚

Today was so, so lovely. This entire weekend was. There’s a healing quality to certain days, that leave you feeling like you can do anything, and that life is really worth living. I feel that way right now.

This morning I took a different route on my walk. It’s kinda bland. Tomorrow I may do my usual one. It’s nice to do something different though, so, since I do two walks a day, I may do this one in the morning and the other one in the evening. I took a couple of photos during this walk…

Here’s a squirrel I met! He had a nut. Or maybe it was a kernel of popcorn? Either way he was obviously protective of his loot:

After my walk, I sat with Christopher while he had breakfast. We watched a movie (we’re getting through all of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World movies). I took this photo of him because Kotoko and Tomoyo were waiting for him to finish his cereal so they could drink his leftover milk. The atmosphere was… intense.

After the movie was done our friend came over, and we went to lunch together, and then to Spirit Halloween. I brought Circo with me:

Whenever I’m in the backseat like this and the two of them are just talking their talk in the front, I feel so small. It’s definitely a very Little feeling and for sure part of why I felt so content the entire evening. It just does something for me. Ironic, I hated the back seat when I was actually little.

We had Chipotle for lunch. I hadn’t had it in forever. I find myself enjoying meals like these much more happily now that I am exercising and watching what I eat.

At Spirit Halloween I bought a couple of fishnet stockings which are an… unusual addition to my wardrobe. ๐Ÿ˜ But as I said, I’m branching out. I also got a couple of new skirtalls in the mail, very cool ones (as in, the fabric is very breathable) that should work well for my walks in the heat. I’ll be trying those out tomorrow.

After we got back from Spirit Halloween, the three of us watched the first Jurassic World movie. It was so cozy and I don’t remember feeling so utterly content in a while. It was my second time watching this movie. I liked it much better this time around. Tomorrow Christopher and I might watch the next one.

I was super happy with how today’s warm-up came out. I’m finally giving myself license to play around with brushes and other commercial-use assets. Even though assets such as these brushes, or patterns, or commercial-use stock photography are literally made for artists to use, I always felt very reluctant to take advantage. I’ve gotten over that mental block, however, and it is bringing me a lot of joy in these latest few drawings.

I guess that’s all I have to share today, other than, I just feel so happy. I have not felt this happy in a long time. And seeing Christopher also be happy, after such a nice day, is a feeling that utterly completes me. He’s been so stressed. I know not every day can feel this way, but I’ll treasure the memory of each and every day that does.
