Kidcore Scrapbooking On A Dime! ๐Ÿ‘›โœจ

A.K.A…

๐ŸŒˆ Littlespace Journaling On A Budget ๐ŸŒˆ

Hey guys! On this post I wanted to share how Iโ€™ve been getting scrapbooking supplies recently for my Littlespace journal, for very little monies by looking at stuff that isnโ€™t specifically made for scrapbooking.

For this, you do need a Dollar Tree ideally, but many similar items can be found in dollar stores for similar prices. But Dollar Tree is the best! I would say the most overlooked item for kidcore/Littlespace scrapbooking is brand new, 2-for-$1 greeting cards!

Sometimes you can use the whole front of the card, sometimes you just cut out what you can use (this is most cases, you donโ€™t want the text –the card to the left above is a good example of a card I’ll cut text out of, while the one to the right is a rare example of one I will keep as-is). Very rarely, a card will have nice enough art on the inside that you will want to get two of the same one.

The card to the bottom of the rightmost photo is one such card, you can see them both, the one underneath is open, showing the inside.

I also recommend that you look at all of their books/kidsโ€™ workbooks/magazines/comics, regardless of topic, to cut things out of them. You can get a multitude of things you can cut for as little as $3 doing that. But itโ€™s not just books. For example, this $1 calendar is great for that!

Every month has something fun to use:

Of course Dollar Tree is also fantastic with stickers. These are the only ones I got today, but they have many dimensional cardboard stickers, full sheets, for $1. Sometimes actually nicer than the $4 ones at big crafts stores.

These card games for toddlers are just a dollar. You get SO much in one box! With a little imagination they are great for kidcore type paper crafts:

Also โ€”save things like candy and cookie containers! Happy Meal boxes! Part of toy boxes you opened. Here, I’ve saved parts of boxes of animal crackers and Uncrustables (some of my favorite Littlespace snacks) and the front of a juice box (which is easily washed with soap and water):

It is all useful. Pressing flowers or leaves you find is great, too! If you are resourceful, you donโ€™t need a lot of money to have tons of scrappy fun as a Little. And it’s more fun cutting things up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

(Make sure to use safety scissors though! Or ask your big to help you cut stuff. And donโ€™t eat the glue!)

Some Pages From My Little Scrapbook ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“—โœจ

This is a rare week in which Christopher is coming home early enough to spend time together every day. So every evening we do just that. He plays a game, and I watch him play while scrapbooking. Right now he’s playing Skyward Sword.

Hereโ€™s my scrapbooking progress:

Itโ€™s basically another version of my blog, but with a much โ€œsmallerโ€ voice, since itโ€™s a Little journal. And itโ€™s only a selection of things that make me feel that way. I prefer to show the pages before I write on them.

During the day, I flatten it under heavy things as much as possible forโ€ฆ obvious reasons… ๐Ÿ˜…

Also, during the last Iso Storytime I finished my coloring page! Then I laminated and put stickers on it. Squirrelโ€™s getting ready for fallโ€ฆ I feel very ready too! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ

Speaking of squirrels… look at this cute little squirrel decoration I saw at Michaels:

I couldnโ€™t buy himโ€ฆ buying things is done for nowโ€ฆ but I did take a picture! ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‚

A “Little” Breather ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸŒˆ

Today I finished my 100 Days Of Warm-Ups project! Well, it ended up being 103. Before I start to work again, I needed to reset, so I decided to have some Little time. Of course, that means scrapbooking and cartoons!

I had Bluey with me. I offered to share my snack but she didn’t want any.

Cartoon choices were (of course) Bluey and Crayon Shin-Chan.

The episode I started with, in which Shin Chan meets the โ€œreal lifeโ€ Action Mask, is SO adorable. Shin Chan may be the Japanese “Dennis The Menace” but he is far more childlike and genuine, and as a result, he can be so cute sometimes.

For a show with so much sexual innuendo and such jokes, it has huge heart. I’ve noticed that when shows like these add bits of emotion, it gets to me something crazy. Like when Shin Chan sends his important letter and it’s to Misae to thank her for all she does. It was played for laughs, but I teared up. Or when he finds Shiro. I’ve teared up watching this show at least three times and I’m still on season one. ๐Ÿ˜…

At some point I’m going to start going in between this and Doraemon because I have a lot of episodes to get through.

Anyway!! Have a look at my tape collection!

I’ve got all kinds… Washi, fabric, duck brand tape… they’re a lot of fun. I also have some huge duck brand tape rolls with really cute designs but of course those don’t fit in this box.

The last thing I’ve got to share is my new Bluey shirt. Can you tell I got a new special interest? Oops. Haha…

That’s it for tonight I guess! It’s time to clean the snail tank and then start dinner. I’m making chicken tonight. ๐Ÿ”

A Crafty Break ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

I worked on a bunch of commissions today! Also had fun working a tad on my scrapbook (well, Littlespace journal.)

As you can see some areas are kind of “lifting” which I hope to be able to fix with a fixative spray that is coming later this week. My goal is to fix this journal completely, but after that I’m 100% going back to Happy Planner pages. Not Happy Planners themselves –just that format. It is far easier to scrapbook with those.

Both work and Littlespace cheered me up a lot! Iโ€™m also really looking forward to tea this weekend for my birthday. Iโ€™m going to try to scrapbook more this week as long as I can also keep up with commission work too.

I canโ€™t wait for Mwakoโ€™s visit so we can do all sorts of Little things together! I’ve been craving it terribly.

A Little Outing On A Hot Day๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒป

I’m still feeling super, super low, so I decided to go on a Little outing. I walked to Michaels and got some stickers, and then to Target, where I got one of their last two Bluey plushies. I really, desperately needed something new to hug that wasn’t expensive.

It was very hot outside, almost unbearably so, but the walk did me good all the same. I met a squirrel on the way, who really stared me down…

Here’s my Bluey plush that I got to cheer myself up:

Later, I did some more scrapbooking. Bluey made sure the colors were harmonious.

I did work on art in the afternoon though, so I promise it wasn’t a day without commission work.

Yard Work ๐Ÿฆ—

Even though I’m not doing okay mentally, I managed to be pretty helpful in the yard without as much whining as I feared I might have done. I ended up in a ton of pain but I helped raking leaves and with Christopher we put down two pallets of sod together. I also did a lot of pressure cleaning.

More than anything I am relieved that considering how I am currently feeling I managed to be cheerful most of the time because I really don’t want to bring my family down with my nonsense, again.

๐Ÿ› Working On The Yard ๐Ÿ›

My mom in law found a cute caterpillar while raking leaves so she let me take him to a safe place. He was such a cutie:

Here’s some video of the little bugger, too:

I really didn’t want to be the first one to tap out (and I only stopped maybe 15 minutes before everyone else, after working since before 8:00am) but I was actually crying by that point because of the terribly pain in my old wrist injury. I think it’ll be okay though.

These photos are from when I came back inside. Almost every area of uncovered skin looked like my arm. ๐Ÿ˜…

Oh yeah –the fridge behind me is the new fridge. It was delivered today. It’s a pretty nice fridge.

Here are some photos of our freshly sodded and pressure cleaned yard and house. The first pallet had some kinda bad squares, but Christopher said it will all grow in very nicely.

After going back in, I showered and sat down to relax for a bit. I had a package to open.

๐ŸŽˆ Birthday Present From Drake ๐ŸŽˆ

My friend Drake sent me a really fancy birthday present! It’s a very cute (but very good, it’s not a toy) crayon sharpener. I hope to use it on the next Little playdate.

Mojito was admiring it too!

Thank you Drakey for such a very lovely present. ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

๐Ÿฐ Scrapbooking Time ๐Ÿฐ

After that I worked a bit on my scrapbook and watched Crayon Shin-Chan. Mignon wanted to watch so I prepared his little chair for him to sit on.

And that was that for the day. Eventually I began working on chores. Grandma made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. The day didn’t end on a bad note. Perhaps I’ll cheer up tomorrow, I’m going to try!

Littlespace N’ Such ๐ŸŒˆ ๐ŸŒŒ ๐Ÿฆ–

Hi hi, everyone! After writing a long entry for therapeutic purposes that I didn’t make public (it was a bit too personal, and I don’t think I can ever feel sure my blog is no longer being stalked) I’m feeling a lot better. I hadn’t been doing too well, in particular in regards to my Littlespace, and getting related thoughts down helped a lot.

I did a bunch of Little-related shopping, nothing too crazy or expensive, just stuff that made me happy.

For starters I’d been trying to decide what to use for my studio bedding. After finding a very affordable Mandalorian set (around $30, pretty good considering I’ve seen it go for $70), I decided to go for it. I picked it not just because Grogu is a big source of Little feels for me, but also because it reminds me of my sis-in-law and that makes me happy:

When I went to Target to pick it up (I’d ordered the last in-store one online) I grabbed a few other Little things. A kinda-sorta storage thingy with a space theme, a composition book with a space theme too, a rainbow plate, a little dinosaur that can chomp onto things and hold on, and a Little Critter book (well, two).

I originally bought the Little Critter book for scrapbooking but that particular story ended up hitting so many personal (kinda sad) buttons that I bought a second copy to keep intact. Some aspects of it reminded me of feeling abandoned by a friend before (although in the book, Critter only feels that way, he isn’t actually –however his pain is so visceral and relatable. It’s very well written for a picture book.) Other parts reminded me of places my brain went to during the last trip when plans didn’t go as I hoped and dreamed. Basically it pushed a lot of buttons, I like this book a lot.

Here’s my little monching velociraptor:

I went on one more Little outing today after our friends’ baby shower. It was the first baby shower I attended where I played typical baby shower games, it was fun. But anyway I went to Dollar Tree after that and got everything you see here, didn’t spend too much at all. The greeting cards, books, and coloring books, as well as the Sesame Street flash cards, are all for scrapbooking. I also got some new crayons, a comic book, a MLP pencil pouch, a mini trash can for my desk and two new cups. The Simba & Nala one I plan to offer for Mwako to use during his upcoming visit. ^_^ I also have a baby lion plate that I keep just for him.

After getting home and taking the pics I had a wonderful snack with Mash:

In the afternoon, for the first time in AGES, I allowed myself a Littlespace activity. I worked on the cover of my new Littlespace journal:

Finally, prompted partly by the catharsis of my private blog entry, and by these indulgent activities putting me in a better frame of mind, I reached out to my super-sweet local Little friend whom I’ve neglected –still really just an acquaintance, because, due to my fears and baggage, I’ve been afraid to get closer. But I decided to make plans again. We should be having a sleepover just the two of us soonish, hopefully during the LAN. I’m really excited about just being Little alone with someone. Maybe this time it can work out better. ๐Ÿ˜Š

There was one closing “Little” touch to my day when a lovely package from ODU arrived with my long-awaited Pupperoni Pizza onesie! It’s such a good design, I can’t wait to wear it:

I guess that’s it for my Littlespace stuff of today! If you follow me on Twitter you’ve already seen most of this stuff, but I hope you enjoyed the post anyways. It’s time for me to make dinner! It’s sausage ravioli.

A Happy Planner Day ๐Ÿ“’๐ŸŒˆ

I was working on my planner a little today, and it looks like Iโ€™ll have to separate last years half journal into two, meaning itโ€™ll be 3 books total. Considering I use the extra large discs, this is kind of impressive. I use lots of cardstock and 3D items so itโ€™s kind of expected.

Here’s a page I decorated recently. I had so much fun with it!

Cover Of My 2020 Happy Planner ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Iโ€™ve been keeping up with my Happy Planner, but was so bummed that I couldnโ€™t find a full size one that I liked, that I didnโ€™t really start to decorate it until now (though I customized the covers of course.) Today I began to properly make the inside โ€œmy ownโ€. ๐Ÿ˜Š
