A Happy Little Sleepover ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ How was your weekend? The LAN is over now, everyone is going home. My friend Shelly just left and so our Little sleepover is over as well. We had soooo much fun together! We colored, built a puzzle, played board games, watched cartoons and a Disney movie and ordered Happy Meals! It was the best night ever. I want to tell you all about it on this post.

๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ Saturday Evening๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ

Last night, before Shelly got here, I got everything ready with Ricky Parky standing guard over our many snacks, coloring books, board games and puzzles! It was a magnificent spread of Littleness.

I hadn’t brought down my crayons and coloring things in quite some time. It was nostalgic seeing them again. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•

(Umโ€ฆ Iโ€™d rather you keep watch over the snacks from a distance, Rickyโ€ฆ)

I had our first movie all ready to watch. The Great Mouse Detective. I hadnโ€™t seen it in ages! Itโ€™s Shellyโ€™s favorite, and I like it a lot too.

After this movie I introduced Shelly to Bluey. She loved it! Always good to indoctrinate new people into the Bluey cult, lol.

As soon as Shelly arrived, we ordered the perfect Disney movie night/sleepover mealโ€ฆ Happy Meals for dinner!

I ordered a cheeseburger and Shelly had nuggets. For our toy, we both got Lola!

After eating we began coloring while continuing to watch our movie. I colored one of my vintage printed coloring pages:

It was so nice to touch and smell my crayons again and to just, make positive Littlespace memories to replace bad ones. The whole evening was a healing experience for me. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

When we were ready to take a break from coloring, we played the Lucky Ducks game which was really silly and fun!

The pond board even quacked! The mechanism is so loud though, lol.

This photo of Shelly it’s my favorite of the night because it’s so cute:

The game was a bit dumb (in that, there was no real challenge but it was cute and fun regardless and we enjoyed putting the stickers on the ducks. ๐Ÿฆ† Basically each of you gets a shape. The shapes are in the duck’s bottoms. On your turn, you pick a duck. If it’s your shape, you keep it. If it’s not, you have to show it to the other players before returning it to the pond. The first player to find 3 ducks with their shape wins.

After Lucky Ducks we played the Mystery Garden game:

I like this game a lot and it was so nice to be able to play it with a fellow Little. One player plays the Gardener. That player grabs a card, looks at it and hides it. The card shows something in the board. It could be the pumpkins, the dragon, the sun, etc. The other players have to guess what it is by asking “yes” or “no” questions.

Each time the players get a question wrong, the Gardener can move a step on the board. If you guess the card, you get to keep it. The first player to get three cards wins. You take turns being the gardener.

Then we put together a puzzle! Iโ€™ve had this puzzle, a gift from
my friend Kitty (AKA Blankit) for the longest time, but there was never a good occasion to put it together until now.

We had fun building it and had some pretty deep discussions while doing just that. It turns out we had a lot more in common than we realized (including some sad things –but realizing that doesn’t make me sad, it makes me feel so much less alone. Ironically those conversations were the most important part of our time together.)

Here is the puzzle, all done!

I liked that the pieces were big. ๐Ÿ˜ I’m not very good at puzzles.

๐ŸŒž๐Ÿฅฃ๐ŸŒˆ Sunday Morning ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿฅฃ๐ŸŒˆ

This morning we colored a little more and watched Bluey and Courage The Cowardly Dog! Just some relaxing Little time before Shelly was picked up. It was really pleasant.

I didn’t get to finish my coloring because I do so many layers. Maybe next time!

Here’s a photo of Shelly coloring. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•

It was such a lovely time and I canโ€™t wait for Shelly to visit again. It was everything I hoped it would be. Iโ€™m so happy today!

New Toys ‘N Things ๐Ÿฆ–๐ŸŽˆ

I may have been getting a lot of toys and stuff lately… in my defense some of it was early gifts since my birthday is coming… ๐Ÿ˜… but it does feel like I’m posting about new toys/games/stickers like every single post lol. I may need to calm my titties a tad.

On that note… Christopher managed to get the goodies I asked for during his business trip. With his coworkers, he went all out of his way to go to the Dinosaur World gift shop for me! He got me this awesome holographic framed print. I love it so much!

The other thing I’d asked for was this raptor lamp. It’s so cute!

Today I also went to pick up my new Grogu. He is extremely adorable, perfect to carry in my bag and even be dressed up. ๐Ÿ˜ I’ll make him a bead name necklace soon.

When Christopher drove me to pick Grogu up from Target (he was a site-to-store order) he also bought me this cute game to play with Shelly this Saturday night:

I’ve actually wanted this game for years to bring to previous Little playdates. In retrospective I’m glad I didn’t get it until now.

After I got home I continued LAN prep and fed/cleaned the snail tank:

They haven’t had cucumber in over a month! It’s a big treat for them.

That’s it for this post! I’m tired…

An Outing ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ›’

Yesterday I went shopping for groceries and visited a few stores for fun. I went to the Salvation Army, which was as gross as ever, and to Party City. Oh, and to Goodwill. I did find a few goodies.

At Party City I got a cup and some napkins and paper plates. Unfortunately it’s all the new 3D style. The hand-drawn art of the “generation” prior to this one is hard to find now, all they had left is a pack of thank you cards. ๐Ÿ˜ž

In the mail when I got home was a little packet I’d been expecting, with a couple of signs and the thing I actually cared about, a little Fat Controller of my very own.

At Goodwill I found two books. One was a very interesting books about unicorns and their history in different cultures:

The other one was a Rugrats book about Christmas which is kinda weird since Tommy’s family is Jewish and this is told from Tommy’s POV:

The art was cute though:

At the Salvation Army (did I mention this place was gross? matches their politics I guess) I found a giant checkers set, brand new in its wrapping, for $6.99. I’d been wanting one forever, so I got it.

The little Big Bird keychain was from Party City.

Here’s an after-lunch treat I had while playing Cafรฉ Enchantรฉ. I’m finally on Ignis’ route. The main story took FOREVER!

That’s all for this post!

Date Night ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ’•

Tonight was date night. I feel too tired for almost anything, and I think so does Christopher, but we gave it our best. We played Dragomino for the first time and it was fun, even though I lost. ๐Ÿ˜… We played Mille Bornes too.

Afterward we made dinner. I made salmon croquettes and he made Cheddar Bay biscuits. We had a salad, too. It was a very good meal.

Grandma’s Birthday And A Fun Night ๐ŸŽ‚

This past weekend we went to visit with my mom in law in Sebastian, but before heading there, we visited Grandma in Port St. Lucie. Her 80th birthday is next week, but we celebrated it during this visit. Just Christopher, his mom, me and Grandma. It was really nice and intimate. Between all of us we brought her two sets of flowers, gift cards, a ton of balloons, and a chocolate ganache cake:

Of course Grandma couldn’t really blow out the candles, but she pretended like the best of them:

For the most part we all had our masks on all the time:

…but not while we ate, though we kept our distance. Still, I wished we had gone to the porch to eat and stay even farther away. I just worry a lot for Grandma’s health. But we needed to give her a bit of normalcy and celebrating, because this was still of of many firsts –her first birthday without Grandpa, and such a momentous one, too.

Later that night at my mom in law’s house we played Ticket To Ride. I really love this game. I had the blue trains, and was going for a very long route. Christopher blocked me off, with his mean little green trains. ๐Ÿ˜  But I didn’t give up, did the route all over again underneath, and won the game! Eat my steam, sucker. ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ’จ

My mom in law’s cat Sissy kept trying to get attention and pets while we played. I took a ton of photos of her, but here’s just a couple:

Ok, I think that’s it for this post, too. Time to go to whatever is next on my drafts. Slowly catching up…

โœจ Lotsa Goodies โœจ

Okay I just finished a commission and it’s not too late so I think I can complete this post before bed!

We went to a game store on Saturday. Christopher allowed me to pick one cheap “kiddy” game for our date nights. I already have (and love) Kingdomino so I could not resist Dragomino by the same makers because… BABY DRAGONS. And, this time they had Takenoko, which I’d only seen the expansions for before. So we got that also:

Before visiting the game store, I spent a long time in a thrift shop since there was a social-distancing related wait to go into the game store anyway –and BOY did I score in there! Everything was half off, from already stupidly cheap prices. I spent less than $8.00 in everything.

I got some colorful furry-ish socks for myself, and several baby caps for my bears:

Also, even though I am no longer part of any organized religion, I still have both a soft spot and a great interest in anything religious that is geared towards children. This book was free (nice copy from 1964) so I took it.

It’s not as interesting as most “childhood indoctrination” books, which I now seek, but rather a sweet little collection of stories about Jesus, beautifully illustrated.

For such an old book, it is in beautiful condition.

At the Vero Beach Book Store, I got two “Gummy Bear” clip-ons, three lovely bookmarks (lenticular bookmarks are my favorite) and a book I’ve long wanted to read, Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain:

But here… now here is the best find. This was actually from the thrift shop, but I wanted to leave it for last.

This utter beauty, brand new in sealed bag and still protected with foam, was $7.99, but 50% off that price. It’s small, just right for my dear little bears. I couldn’t believe how utterly beautiful it was for the price, the condition, just. All of it. I was happier about this than anything else I got this weekend.

Already Dijon took possession of it, at least for now. Doesn’t she look adorable sitting on it? ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•โœจ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

Other than these outings, I did get a lot of commission work during our stay and even worked on some gift art for my friend. Overall it was a wonderful weekend. I’m looking forward to working on the current chapter of Meganeea again tomorrow and perhaps even illustrating it during the week.

I will be having Hoppi dropped off tomorrow for my refund. Still awaiting Cabbage Rose (whose name will be Mignon) whom I know I will love, and a cheaper bear that tugged at my heart strings nonetheless. He will be named Barley. I’ve made necklaces for both already.

Now I have to decide which bear I’ll sleep with tonight… maybe Mudpie? ๐Ÿค”

Date Night ๐Ÿช ๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿท

Today was a really good day. I did all my chores, worked on my books, worked on commissions and personal art, sorted a lot of email. One of my new Charlie Bears came (photos tomorrow) as well as my new Beany Boo camel, whom Iโ€™ve named Falafel.

Iโ€™ll have better photos of Falafel tomorrow as well to explain why he is special enough to add to my hug. For now, have the photos from our date night!

We had ramen, played a couple rounds of KingDomino, and watched a little TV. It was a really happy, cozy time.

Christopher won every round, but it was still a lot of fun. Maybe Iโ€™ll do better next time! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ’ง
