Friday Again! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! I’ve had a very productive day and really looking forward to the weekend. I have a nice picture of the owls today, a little closer than usual:

Today during my walk I spotted a duck walking SO slowly right into traffic. So I rushed ahead and scared him back onto the grass. He was so displeased, and flapped his wings and glared and honked, but he never stopped walking away and soon rejoined his friends a ways off the road. Then I let him be.

After I got home from my walk I changed into my proper outfit for today. I hadn’t worn these shortalls in a while, but thanks to all the exercise and weight loss recently, I’ve been feeling more comfortable with them again:

After my lunch I had my last Jelly banana pudding. I couldn’t resist these when I spotted them, because the container is so reminiscent of the ones I used to eat as a little girl. Thankfully, it was also delicious!

I took pictures of the cute art all around the cup:

Got a little more of Tarzan read, as well. My god is this book racist, lol. Definitely a product of its era. But it’s a classic I want to be able to have under my belt.

Anyway that’s all for now, I’m gonna try to get a little more art in before I stop for the day!

Date Night At The Village Tavern! ๐Ÿ’˜

Hi everyone! Today was a wonderful day. Just getting a lot done, we had a wonderful date night, and in general, little things here and there are just… making me very happy.

To begin with, here’s a morning photo of Tomoyo and Elliot creepily staring me down. They held their pose and stare for several minutes, it was rather unnerving:

Then I have a daily owl from today’s walk:

I published a new chapter of Meganeea today, with three illustrations. You can read it here if you would like. ๐Ÿ˜Š

In the afternoon I played Legend Of Mana for a little while. A while after that I had a big burst of energy/emotions for… reasons, that I desperately needed to walk off ๐Ÿ™ˆ so I took my second walk in spite of this insanity:

When I got back, Christopher was home. I was able to coax him into having a date night dinner out. So I put a new outfit together (parts of it are new) and I brought Vanilla Bean with me. We went to the Village Tavern.

I took this photo of Vanilla Bean in the car but she ended up looking kind of wonky. This also distracted me into not putting my seatbelt on until a few streets later. I’m not sure why, I’ve been forgetting that once in a while. I’m paranoid about wearing a seatbelt, so it’s weird.

Our wait wasn’t very long. I took this selfie of us while our table was being readied. I hope we can take photos like these without masks soon…

I felt like celebrating tonight, so I got a chocolate martini. Vanilla Bean had a sip too:

Rather horrifyingly for a $120+ teddy, she got some chocolate on her paw in the process. Thankfully it was easily wiped off! Well… ultimately I want to enjoy my stuffies, and take them on adventures, so the odd stain or such is not the end of the world if it happens. It’s just life.

I should say, this drink always does a number on me. I’d have to drink four glasses of wine to get as plastered as this one drink gets me, I don’t know why. Christopher says there’s vodka in it, which I never drink, so I guess that would explain a lot.

Needless to say I was absolutely obnoxious the entire evening, and yet in my drunken state managed to beat him at two rounds of Tetris. By the end of our game time, however, the pieces seemed to be going all in the opposite directions I wanted them to go. The connection between my hands and my brain was quite fuzzy. But I didn’t care, it was so much fun.

Tomorrow should be fun too. Goodnight, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Off To Mom’s Today ๐Ÿ’•

I’m just back from my morning walk so here is the morning post. I spotted new owls today! As well as the usual ones. The new owls are in an area where another nest is cordoned off, but that entrance has seemingly been abandoned for months, maybe years. The owls were quite far away from it, and did not have a perch. I could not get a good picture, but here they are:

Other than that, I met a kitty on the way back. He knows me well, and is affectionate. I only see him (her?) once in a rare while, though.

Got a little video when he/she was walking up to me, too:

Anyway, today’s a busy day, as ever. Someone is coming to do work in the house, and I’m going to my mom’s later, too. Today, two warm-ups are due, so I’ve got to get cracking. Have a good day, everyone!

Say Hello To A Brand New Week! โœจ

Hi guys! I hope your week is off to a good start. Mine feels like a continuation of the weekend, because Christopher stayed home and we spent almost the entire day together. It was so nice!

I went on my two walks. It was raining hard for the first one but I went anyway. I was quite soaked when I got home but that’s alright. I wasn’t going to let anything stop me –not when I’ve managed to lose five pounds in a week! I’m ecstatic and I feel so energized. If I don’t walk my walks now, I feel antsy. ๐Ÿ˜

For my second walk it wasn’t raining so I took a couple of photos:

I also said hi to my little owl friends:

I came home with more snails again, oops. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I need to stop.

Christopher and I watched a documentary on movie ratings and the last Jurassic World movie, Fallen Kingdom. I really liked it. Blue is so cute, I’m so glad I have such a nice toy of her.

While we watched the first movie, our elderly cat, Kotoko, climbed quite high on the cat tree. She seemed pleased with herself, but it made Christopher a little nervous. ๐Ÿ˜…

In between movies we went to have Starbucks and to walk around Target. Since I’d already had lunch, I just got my coffee and Christopher had pizza. I bothered him by taking photos.

At Target I got a new blouse and two more musical dinos for my sand/beach bucket:

I also found a Snap Squad velociraptor! It was the only one. It’s so cute.

Tomorrow I’m going to visit my mom, so I’m looking forward to that. It’ll be a busy day though, because I didn’t manage to finish today’s warm-up. So tomorrow I have to make really sure I stay on track, the whole day.

Still –it’s okay. I was happy that I spent time with Christopher today. Tomorrow I’ll catch up for sure!

Made It To Friday! ๐ŸŽˆ

Good morning, everyone! First things first. I forgot to share last night’s dinner before I went to bed. I was pretty proud of it. Chicken meatballs with elbows in white mushroom sauce and avocado (weird side, but they were ripe, ok?)

At 6:30am I was out and headed on my morning walk. Once again, the little owls were there, watching me go by. Rather unusually, one was perched on a sign a ways off the nest.

Then he flew back to the alternate opening (but I’m 80% sure this isn’t an opening, rather just a drainage pipe that they like to hide in as an emergency.)

As usual, not terribly pleased that I noticed him there.

On the walk back, I stopped to talk with a relative.

Friendly enough fella, but squirrels often make me nervous. They can be vicious little bastards, one sent my MIL to the hospital once!

I also collected more snails when I passed what I now call “Snail Country”. I have moved a bit from my original collection area, to where I can find some bigger specimens. Today I will be moving all of those snails to a more comfortable, bigger tank. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today is going to be very busy actually. By noon, I want to have all of my chores done, and I have a LOT of chores to do. So I’m gonna get to it. I hope everyone reading this enjoys this day!

Thursday Morning Ramble ๐Ÿฅฑ๐ŸŒž

Good morning, friends. Today looks like another good day. I was up and out of the house by 6:45am again, and got my walk in, almost 7 km. My little friends were there, as usual:

While so similar to yesterday, today’s pictures are even better. I saw the owl from far away, so, while staying on the sidewalk, I came up as close as possible from a long distance. This way, if I noticed it was uncomfortable, I could move to the other side of the sidewalk.

It wasn’t though, as you can see I was able to get good pictures –I did more of a “rolling stop” with my camera to bug him as little as possible. ๐Ÿ˜

Also, shopped for groceries to make Christopher another nice dinner. Tonight is date night! So I’m looking forward to that.

This last two weeks I’ve been working on creating a new part of my wardrobe. I’m adding a lot of plaids and things with a punkish/schoolgirl type look, stuff I’ve only barely experimented with before. It appeals to the more “Middle” side of me (I still consider my “Little” side, which is on the 7 or so range, to be “Little”. When I’m in this other mood, I’d definitely call that “Middlespace” as I’ve heard others describe it. I feel a little more devious in that headspace. ๐Ÿ˜)

So anyway, today a few things purchased to that end are arriving. I should be able to put together several new cute Middlespace outfits that aren’t the rainbow vomit I normally wear. A little variety can be nice.

Welp. I’ve got to stay disciplined if I want to continue making progress so I’ll end this here –I’ll try to make a post regarding my thoughts about The Hagwood Trilogy later today.

A Week Halfway Done ๐Ÿฆ‰๐ŸŒ†

Good morning everyone. I didn’t oversleep today! I was up and out by around 6:30am. I actually woke up around 5:30am… I could have gotten up, but it seemed a bad idea when I’m pushing myself so far with the hours of walking and not too much eating. ๐Ÿ˜…

Having left earlier, I was able to get some sunrise photos…

Even by this point it was hot and humid. I can tell it’s going to be a scorcher… hopefully the evening cools down slightly, as I’d like to do an evening walk as well.

Today when I walked past the owl nest (remember, I’m always on the sidewalk) two of them (I’m guessing the two chicks) were playfully going at each other, and flying about. When I began to walk past they quickly hid, but the others stayed outside.

Today would be a special day, however. An owl was perching on the pipe that stands right by the sidewalk. I cannot believe I was able to be so close. These photos are still very zoomed in, but obviously not as much as usual. I wasn’t in touching distance of the little owl, but not far from.

Just like a little sentinel, he kept looking this way and that.

These three videos I’m going to share below are very short and samey, but I don’t expect I’ll have many chances of capturing a burrowing owl so close. So I want to share them all. Here’s the first:

Second one:

Last one. At this point I felt I was bothering the little guy even if I was on the sidewalk so I left him be.

In other news, yesterday ended in great annoyance as I seem to have lost my Apple headphones. ๐Ÿ˜ค They are the cheap ones with a lightning port that used to come with the iPhone, but I loved them, and hate, hate that I’ve lost them. Thankfully Amazon had them for 57% off, so it wasn’t too bad and I should have a new pair tomorrow.

Anyway what’s in the cards today… gotta finish a commission AND the warm-up, and start work on my current trade with MinetteFraise, install some new brushes, medicate and feed/water the cats, look after the snails, and, well, all my other chores. Tonight I want to surprise Christopher with a special meal –and take another walk too. I guess I better get to it!

It’s Tuesday! ๐ŸŒผ

Good morning dear friends!! I’m kicking myself because I overslept today, but I’m ready to tackle the day. How is everyone? ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒป

In spite of my walk occurring later in the morning, my little friends were still there!

I suppose I’ll have to stop taking pictures, they are very samey, but I’m so excited every time I see them. ๐Ÿ˜…

Also, tomorrow I really want to make sure I leave around a quarter to seven. Once the sun is high in the sky, it sucks. ๐Ÿ˜“

Anyway, last night I made salmon croquettes for dinner! ๐ŸŸโœจ๐Ÿ’• But I could only eat one before I was full, so I’ll have the other one for lunch today.

Here’s a new outfit I wore for the first time to a little dinner party last night. I felt pretty cute! ๐Ÿฅฐ This is one of those things I mentioned getting the other day (the jumper).

I’ll end this here for now as I have a LOT going on today. Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

Morning Walk Done! ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ

Happy Monday, friends! I’m back from another morning walk. It is clear that I need to leave this early to enjoy it. I guess this is my new routine!

I saw a bunch of critters during my walk. Just the usual neighbors, but also something special that I’m leaving for the end.

First, some birdos:

The owls were there again! Sorry for the bad photos… my phone is all I have and I don’t want to disturb them by getting too close.

This is the same owl that yelled at me yesterday. It was, in fact, in the same spot as before. I wonder if this is an alternate entrance?

But now for the true highlightโ€ฆ after over a year of hunting areas full of bleached shellsโ€ฆ finallyโ€ฆ GOT ‘EM!! ๐ŸŒโœจ๐ŸŒโœจ๐ŸŒ

They are now in the tiny isolation tank while I deworm and monitor.

I still hope my friend gets me some from his yard. I want more variety as far as genetics and two of these are small anyway. Hopefully young and not runts! ๐Ÿ˜

Alright… time to make the bed and work on the daily warm-up!

Happy Sunday, Everyone! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Good morning everyone!! I was up at 6:30am to exercise. Now that I’m back, I’m having breakfast and, well, blogging.

When I went on my walk and had my little carrier in case I spotted any live cuban snails where I saw the dead one yesterday, but no luck.

On the urban wildlife front, here is a neighborhood kitty –skittish but friendly. He meowed a greeting but stayed away.

To my delight, the burrowing owls were out again! This time I counted four (not all pictured):

Watching me carefully…

This guy was a ways off the nest –clearly eager to return to it but didn’t want to do it with me watching.

He even yelled at my a little!

I also spotted a few squirrels but nothing else unusual.

๐Ÿฆ– Jurassic World Alive ๐Ÿฆ•

Well, unless you count dinosaurs. ๐Ÿ˜ I gathered enough DNA for a few more, including this triceratops:

As always, had a bit too much fun with this.

Playing with a tire!

I love how these photos came out:

I also created this flamboyant guy!

Hongry:

He’s a little charmer, look at that grin!

Anyway, it’s gonna be a busy day but a good one, I hope. We’re going out to lunch soon, and I still have a lot of work to do around the house, as well as the daily warm-up and another commission, and more exercise. I’m sure I’ll post again today. Hope you’re all enjoying your labor day weekend!
