I think Buddy and Sarah have fully made up. Today they were holding hands!
Today’s Advent chocolate:
I think Buddy and Sarah have fully made up. Today they were holding hands!
Today’s Advent chocolate:
Today, Buddy and Sarah were sitting with the Starbucks Bearista bears. Maybe they still have some tension after yesterday though, because one of the bears was sitting between them both and Sarah wouldn’t look Buddy in the eye:
Today’s Advent chocolate:
Today Buddy and Sarah were riding the hand-me-down rug cleaner that my mom in law brought us. It had moved, so maybe they rode it around the downstairs…
I wonder if the blood won’t go to Buddy’s head hanging like that all day though. I hope he is okay. Buddy’s life has gotten more dangerous since Sarah joined him.
Oh and here’s today’s Advent chocolate!
I had a really nice lunch today! I fried an egg and mashed some avocado, made guacamole basically (added salt, pepper, lemon, chili powder and cilantro) and put it all between a toasted brioche bun. It tasted amazing!
Today Christopher had to give me his computer code while he was at work so he could have me check something for him, and of course after we were done I couldn’t miss the opportunity to change his wallpaper.
Yesterday I went to WalMart. My main objective was to look for the Super Mario Wonder Balls for two reasons: I like the coins and stickers, and they have the most delicious chocolate and candy I’ve ever had in any such candy-with-prize thing. I ended up buying like six of them, and this little Ludwig for good measure. Just another desk friend.
Here’s a little photo I snapped during today’s walk. Nothing too special. It’s peaceful and cool lately.
On my way back I went to ABC for some Christmas gift alcohol and I was pretty tickled by one of their signs:
I also went to Publix to get dinner and got more Pfeffernusse cookies. These cookies are my favorite Christmas treat, especially because when they are on this tin they look like snowballs:
That’s all I’ve got for today. It’s been a busy day. See you all tomorrow!
Yesterday I came to visit my mom and spend the night! We also went out for an early celebration of my birthday when Christopher picked me up. I had a wonderful time and my mom spoiled me so much that I really left feeling much better than when I got there! 😊
As soon as I got there Mom gave me a snack and I began to munch and work on the next warm-up for Nazz. 👀 I had Grogu for company on this trip.
Grogu investigates the snack…
My mom made me a huge childhood treat for dinner –cheesy polenta! It’s the best.
As ever, Sweeney alternated between a desire to play and a desire to kill me. He draws blood on every visit, but he really wants to play (until he doesn’t) and he really wants to be pet (until he doesn’t.) And it’s hard to know which is which. Ever since I moved away he’s always a bit pissy to see me, I think because he misses me. But he ends up curled up next to me by the end.
I ate waaay too much but my first day with Mom was lovely.
The next day, my mom gave me my birthday present early!! Since I won’t see her for my actual birthday. I knew from the shape what it was. 😁
ITS MY MAN
I’m turning 38. Thanks mom for humoring my immature ass. This was my first husbando ever when I was like 13 lol.
Afterwards, my mom made cheddar biscuits and mate cocido to have while we watched TV:
It was really cozy.
In the evening we went to Banchero! It purported to make true Argentinean pizza. Now, you won’t know this unless you lived and experienced it in Argentina, but Argentinean pizza is just, completely different, with the meltiest cheese, and amazing toppings. It’s the one thing I truly miss from my home country.
For twenty years, we hadn’t been able to find a place that truly replicated our original experience. So my expectations were very high!
Christopher ordered a meat lover’s. My mom and I ordered half morrón and half primavera which has EGG! And a piece of fainá for nostalgia’s sake, and an entire bottle of wine for my mom and I. It was a very expensive meal because these pizzas cost like, $25 each. But they are 100% worth that price. Trust me. At least ours was.
I asked Christopher to hold Grogu for a photo but he was difficult about it… 😠
Eventually I got Grogu to stand, although in her drunkenness, my mom was joining Christopher in his sabotaging efforts by trying to tip poor Grogu over with the pie knife:
Then she wanted to give him an olive as a peace offering:
The pizza really was as I remembered my last from 20 years ago. Met our expectations for sure! It was a big treat from my mom for my birthday… definitely a costly meal… Authentic Argentinian pizza on the beach isn’t cheap. But it was so worth it. I’m really grateful to my mom!
Side note, I love my palm sized Grogu so much, but sometimes he talks if his tummy is accidentally pressed and then someone inevitably goes “what the hell was that” and I can either say “me” or “my Grogu doll that I carry around everywhere”. It’s a lose-lose either way. 🙃
Today is the first day of the LAN! I was up early to head to Gamestop about an hour and a half before opening. I promised Christopher I would do whatever it took to get his Skyward Sword joy-cons. I was first in line!
They only had eight. I was able to get one! Later in the day, the game, which he pre-ordered, arrived too:
After I got home I spent the rest of the day prepping. Finally right before everyone arrived I changed into my usual “first day of LAN” outfit:
Grogu was my little LAN companion. He has a necklace now –I’ll post a photo of that later.
A little later people began to arrive and soon things were quite busy. I accompanied our friend Ezequiel to get cider and he got me an early birthday present, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin! 😍
Buuuut… for now, I have something much more important to play first… 😏
As you all known I’m beyond excited about finally getting my hands on my Collector’s Edition copy of the remastered Legend of Mana for the Nintendo Switch.
Originally a PS1 game, it is one of the most important games in my life and one of those media experiences that was life-changing: like a good book, there is a time before and after Legend of Mana in my life. To be able to return to this world in HD is simply beyond amazing.
Everything from the art, to the music (most of all the music) is sublime and gives me chills. The moment when you place down the mailbox and the music begins I just truly feel like I’m home.
The story is kind of all over the place, still, I love it just the way it is.
The Sproutling’s description of how you create the world from your imagination is very “Neverending Story” to me (which also happens to be my favorite book.)
Domina exists once again!
But before I actually ventured into town, I went back to visit Li’l Cactus, one of my (and many people’s) fondest memories about this game:
Part of my reason to love Li’l Cactus so much as that growing up we had a cactus exactly like this one. Well, it didn’t have a face or keep a diary, but you know what I mean. 😅 It bloomed once a year, I think for just one night.
Li’l Cactus, as his bio points out, is of few words. But he will write at length in his diary, as long as you go and talk to him after each adventure you have. It’s a pointless and adorable concept.
I didn’t get to record that bit, but after the above, he hops out of the pot and goes to write on those hanging leaves on the wood beam.
Here’s examples of his diary entries:
Then I did go to Domina, eager to see my favorite character not just of this game, but any and all games I’ve ever played:
I wondered in the back of my mind, why did I like him so much? I was soon reminded. Lol.
Add all of that to his uber-protective streak and he’s irresistible. 😁
Every character in this game is delightful. There’s funny things and hilarious bits of dialogue all over the place. Repeatedly talking to characters is rewarded.
The first boss! I remember shitting a brick when his massive shape filled my TV screen!
The nice thing about LoM is that, while it has an overarching story (…I think?) it’s comprised of many little ones. So you feel a quick boost of accomplishment time and time again.
With Elazul and Pearl’s first quest complete, it’s time to meet another two favorites once again –Bud and Lisa:
I remember that the first time (just as this time!) I felt terribly having to defeat them, especially poor Lisa…
But, Bud is so thrilled by your might that he begs to become your apprentice:
I’ve played further, but I’ll share that later. I wanted to at least share this bit for now. I really, really recommend this game. Especially to fellow Littles. It’s such a cute and colorful journey.
I may have been getting a lot of toys and stuff lately… in my defense some of it was early gifts since my birthday is coming… 😅 but it does feel like I’m posting about new toys/games/stickers like every single post lol. I may need to calm my titties a tad.
On that note… Christopher managed to get the goodies I asked for during his business trip. With his coworkers, he went all out of his way to go to the Dinosaur World gift shop for me! He got me this awesome holographic framed print. I love it so much!
The other thing I’d asked for was this raptor lamp. It’s so cute!
Today I also went to pick up my new Grogu. He is extremely adorable, perfect to carry in my bag and even be dressed up. 😁 I’ll make him a bead name necklace soon.
When Christopher drove me to pick Grogu up from Target (he was a site-to-store order) he also bought me this cute game to play with Shelly this Saturday night:
I’ve actually wanted this game for years to bring to previous Little playdates. In retrospective I’m glad I didn’t get it until now.
After I got home I continued LAN prep and fed/cleaned the snail tank:
They haven’t had cucumber in over a month! It’s a big treat for them.
That’s it for this post! I’m tired…
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m still working hard on final LAN party prep. Today I went to the craft store and to do some last minute grocery shopping. I wore a very Little-feeling outfit:
I also got a good walk in, so that was nice. 😊
Here’s some video and such of Tomoyo being her good old destructive little self:
She seemed satisfied when she was done.
Some postcards I ordered for scrapbooking arrived yesterday!
The packaging was so delightful that I honestly feel tempted to get back into Postcrossing. I was big into it a long time ago!
The store I bought this from, as you can see, is geared towards Postcrossers. So yeah. Might do that again.
They even included a tiny envelope with bonus stamps! 📮
I can’t get enough of collecting more scrapbooking stuff… 👉 👈💧 So, uuuh, here’s some more I guess…
I also made a new necklace today with some stuff I got at the craft store. I’m really happy with how it turned out!
Not much else to say because I’m so busy… I’m sure I’ll have a lot to post about next week, though!
Note: I’ve post-dated this entry because I didn’t want to be so blatant about being home alone while I was actually home alone. Christopher comes back today so now I’m okay posting about it.
Christopher left his morning on a four day business trip. It’s always the same –I’m very excited the day he leaves, excited to eat lots of garbage, go to bed really late, and maybe take an Uber to and back from a favorite store (that’s how I party). In reality, I eat UberEats once, go to bed late because I do more housework than usual, and spend my nights in terror because I hate being home alone at night. Lol.
Anyway, as usual, I asked Christopher if I could order takeout just once at some point during his business trip (he said yes) and did it literally as he was pulling out of the driveway… 😅 Oops. That counts, right? He’d technically already left.
After working on art for a while, I went grocery shopping for the week (after, of course, a super indulgent “Little” outing –Goodwill and Five Below). I got my favorite, popcorn chicken, at Publix, and even had a soda with it! A real treat, so I took out the fancy china.
As if that weren’t enough I had milk and cookies for dessert… I told you I’m partying.
Part of the reason for the “Little” shopping outing was sleepover snacks. I’m having a sleepover with my new friend in the middle of the LAN. She likes gummies like me so I got a lot of those, among other stuff…
At Goodwill I found a cute Golden Book to use for scrapbooking. At Five Below I got a Grogu sticker for my water bottle, a Pound Puppies bag clip, some “affirmation cards” (very cute and positive, these are also for scrapbooking) and two coloring books for the sleepover. 🥰
Here’s the sticker on my water bottle, it looks pretty nice:
Something else you can see in the other photo is my new Mandalorian sticker set. It’s one of those Amazon sticker sets from China that have a TON of stickers… looking at them, I think a lot are stolen art. 😣 I should have known better. But others are… um… I don’t even know how to put it. I’m just going to share some of my favorites and also some of the most “peculiar” ones below. The rest of the 60 sticker pack was more mundane. Cute, just not unusually so, or not unusually wtf, unlike, well, some of these:
In the evening, after some housework, I tried to make kale chips. It’s maybe the third time I try. Even though they were a bit too oily and salty, I finally managed to get them nice and crispy! So I’m excited to try again in the future.
Since Christopher isn’t home I decided to let Tomoyo sleep with me. She’s usually too poorly behaved to be allowed upstairs at night. She was happy, though.
And that’s it… that was my first, indulgent day, but really one that comes before what I know will be an incredibly busy week. 👀💦 Goodnight, everyone!
Hi hi, everyone! After writing a long entry for therapeutic purposes that I didn’t make public (it was a bit too personal, and I don’t think I can ever feel sure my blog is no longer being stalked) I’m feeling a lot better. I hadn’t been doing too well, in particular in regards to my Littlespace, and getting related thoughts down helped a lot.
I did a bunch of Little-related shopping, nothing too crazy or expensive, just stuff that made me happy.
For starters I’d been trying to decide what to use for my studio bedding. After finding a very affordable Mandalorian set (around $30, pretty good considering I’ve seen it go for $70), I decided to go for it. I picked it not just because Grogu is a big source of Little feels for me, but also because it reminds me of my sis-in-law and that makes me happy:
When I went to Target to pick it up (I’d ordered the last in-store one online) I grabbed a few other Little things. A kinda-sorta storage thingy with a space theme, a composition book with a space theme too, a rainbow plate, a little dinosaur that can chomp onto things and hold on, and a Little Critter book (well, two).
I originally bought the Little Critter book for scrapbooking but that particular story ended up hitting so many personal (kinda sad) buttons that I bought a second copy to keep intact. Some aspects of it reminded me of feeling abandoned by a friend before (although in the book, Critter only feels that way, he isn’t actually –however his pain is so visceral and relatable. It’s very well written for a picture book.) Other parts reminded me of places my brain went to during the last trip when plans didn’t go as I hoped and dreamed. Basically it pushed a lot of buttons, I like this book a lot.
Here’s my little monching velociraptor:
I went on one more Little outing today after our friends’ baby shower. It was the first baby shower I attended where I played typical baby shower games, it was fun. But anyway I went to Dollar Tree after that and got everything you see here, didn’t spend too much at all. The greeting cards, books, and coloring books, as well as the Sesame Street flash cards, are all for scrapbooking. I also got some new crayons, a comic book, a MLP pencil pouch, a mini trash can for my desk and two new cups. The Simba & Nala one I plan to offer for Mwako to use during his upcoming visit. ^_^ I also have a baby lion plate that I keep just for him.
After getting home and taking the pics I had a wonderful snack with Mash:
In the afternoon, for the first time in AGES, I allowed myself a Littlespace activity. I worked on the cover of my new Littlespace journal:
Finally, prompted partly by the catharsis of my private blog entry, and by these indulgent activities putting me in a better frame of mind, I reached out to my super-sweet local Little friend whom I’ve neglected –still really just an acquaintance, because, due to my fears and baggage, I’ve been afraid to get closer. But I decided to make plans again. We should be having a sleepover just the two of us soonish, hopefully during the LAN. I’m really excited about just being Little alone with someone. Maybe this time it can work out better. 😊
There was one closing “Little” touch to my day when a lovely package from ODU arrived with my long-awaited Pupperoni Pizza onesie! It’s such a good design, I can’t wait to wear it:
I guess that’s it for my Littlespace stuff of today! If you follow me on Twitter you’ve already seen most of this stuff, but I hope you enjoyed the post anyways. It’s time for me to make dinner! It’s sausage ravioli.
