Sunday Wind-Down ๐Ÿฆ‹

Hello everyone. Weekend is winding down… As planned, I was up before 7am, went on my walk. I saw some cute and very active butterflies:

Once home, mowed the lawn. Then I showered and Christopher and I went out on some errands. We went to Home Depot and to shop for groceries, but simple errands though it was, I enjoyed that little time together because we were both in a happy mood.

At Home Depot I spotted a Jeep with a really cool decal!

Throughout the afternoon Christopher and I watched movies and enjoyed each other’s company –as well as the leftovers from last night’s incredible dinner. I worked on some more art and then it was time for my second walk. Since I walk at dawn and sunset I’m carrying mace now, because Christopher worries… he got me a pink one:

I snapped some pretty pictures of the sky and moon on my second walk…

Tomorrow, very early in the morning, they are coming to redo our roof. So many roofs in our neighborhood are being redone. I hope that doesn’t affect my day. I don’t think it should. Above all I want to be able to not interrupt my exercise routine.

I guess that’s all for today, I’m signing off. Night, everyone!

Say Hello To A Brand New Week! โœจ

Hi guys! I hope your week is off to a good start. Mine feels like a continuation of the weekend, because Christopher stayed home and we spent almost the entire day together. It was so nice!

I went on my two walks. It was raining hard for the first one but I went anyway. I was quite soaked when I got home but that’s alright. I wasn’t going to let anything stop me –not when I’ve managed to lose five pounds in a week! I’m ecstatic and I feel so energized. If I don’t walk my walks now, I feel antsy. ๐Ÿ˜

For my second walk it wasn’t raining so I took a couple of photos:

I also said hi to my little owl friends:

I came home with more snails again, oops. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I need to stop.

Christopher and I watched a documentary on movie ratings and the last Jurassic World movie, Fallen Kingdom. I really liked it. Blue is so cute, I’m so glad I have such a nice toy of her.

While we watched the first movie, our elderly cat, Kotoko, climbed quite high on the cat tree. She seemed pleased with herself, but it made Christopher a little nervous. ๐Ÿ˜…

In between movies we went to have Starbucks and to walk around Target. Since I’d already had lunch, I just got my coffee and Christopher had pizza. I bothered him by taking photos.

At Target I got a new blouse and two more musical dinos for my sand/beach bucket:

I also found a Snap Squad velociraptor! It was the only one. It’s so cute.

Tomorrow I’m going to visit my mom, so I’m looking forward to that. It’ll be a busy day though, because I didn’t manage to finish today’s warm-up. So tomorrow I have to make really sure I stay on track, the whole day.

Still –it’s okay. I was happy that I spent time with Christopher today. Tomorrow I’ll catch up for sure!

Happy Sunday, Everyone! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Good morning everyone!! I was up at 6:30am to exercise. Now that I’m back, I’m having breakfast and, well, blogging.

When I went on my walk and had my little carrier in case I spotted any live cuban snails where I saw the dead one yesterday, but no luck.

On the urban wildlife front, here is a neighborhood kitty –skittish but friendly. He meowed a greeting but stayed away.

To my delight, the burrowing owls were out again! This time I counted four (not all pictured):

Watching me carefully…

This guy was a ways off the nest –clearly eager to return to it but didn’t want to do it with me watching.

He even yelled at my a little!

I also spotted a few squirrels but nothing else unusual.

๐Ÿฆ– Jurassic World Alive ๐Ÿฆ•

Well, unless you count dinosaurs. ๐Ÿ˜ I gathered enough DNA for a few more, including this triceratops:

As always, had a bit too much fun with this.

Playing with a tire!

I love how these photos came out:

I also created this flamboyant guy!

He’s a little charmer, look at that grin!

Anyway, it’s gonna be a busy day but a good one, I hope. We’re going out to lunch soon, and I still have a lot of work to do around the house, as well as the daily warm-up and another commission, and more exercise. I’m sure I’ll post again today. Hope you’re all enjoying your labor day weekend!

A Perfect Saturday! ๐Ÿ’–

What a totally amazing day! We went to the Swap Shop. It brings back a lot of old memories. It was much deader and emptier, but somehow smelled worse than ever. Still, good company will make the dirtiest and most mundane place in the world wonderful, as is always the case. We had a lot of fun. And, I bought three books! I only spent $3.00.

My original goal was to keep Pinocchio in my library, while the other two would be for scrapbooking. However, upon inspection at home, all three books turned out to be so nice and in such lovely condition, that I cannot bear to use them in such a manner. They will all be permanent library additions.

In particular, while flipping through the Little Golden Books Story Land compilation, I came across a blast from my childhood. This was, in fact, the first-ever book in English I ever owned:

As a child, I understood very few words in this story. It’s really odd to see it again and now understand the words. Not all of the illustrations from the story are in this book, but reading it, I see the missing illustrations that are seared into my mind. This book stuck with me, because I could NOT figure out the story from the illustrations alone, and I remembered this frustrated me a lot! ๐Ÿ˜…

Here are a couple of photos of the other books:

We were done with the Swap Shop fairly early, and from there went garage saling. We didn’t buy anything, but it was fun anyway. Then we went to get coffee, did some work around the house, and went out again for lunch. We had Mod Pizza!

Earlier in the day our friend pointed out this lovely little mushroom to me. I am always in wonder at how quickly they pop up and how perfect they are. Nature is so beautiful. Anyway, I had to take a picture!

After our friend left, Christopher, his mom, and I hung out, I finished the daily warm-up, watched Christopher play video games, and generally amorously harassed him as the entire morning left me feeling a little too hyper.

Before having my dinner, I went on another walk. I was doing quite well with my calories (and not feeling overly hungry or tired!) and I didn’t need to, but I wanted to finally have a banana pudding cup. ๐ŸŒ It was worth it and the walk made me feel even better anyways! ๐Ÿ’

During my walk I spotted another cuban snail shell, it was even more frustrating than usual because it was still brown (as in, not sun-bleached) and had snail remnants! Aaagh. ๐Ÿ˜ซ Most of it had been eaten by ants, but looked fresh. Where ARE these guys??

Our friend promised me he’d get me some of those snails from his yard and I hope he doesn’t forget and gets me a LOT. I’ll gladly put out the other tank again for some cuban snailios.

Also during my walk, I was able to create an Einiosaurus!

Just look at this cutie!

Oh yeah… some stuff came in the mail, such as my last Jurassic World dino (Baby Blue) and my pre-order of Kitaria Fables. Also –I paid yet more debt!

Now I’m off to do my chores. I feel rejuvenated for sure. I feel like I’m improving my art speed, making progress with debt, improving my physical shape and health, and I have fun things to look forward to next week. I just feel good. It’s a good Saturday.

My Dino Family Has Grown! ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ•๐ŸŒดโ˜„๏ธ

Somehow, even in my deep love for dinosaurs, I’ve avoided Jurassic Park toys/the franchise apart from the original movie. This is ironic, because the two biggest factors behind my dinosaur love, at least in childhood, were The Land Before Time and Jurassic Park. The latter was the first “really scary” movie I ever watched which at the time felt like a milestone. It still gives me the same thrill today.

I think I wanted to make my affection for dinosaurs more… pure? Lol. As in free from brands? But the result is that I’ve missed out on amazing things, like Jurassic World Evolution, the original novel (which I own but never read) and stuff like Camp Cretaceous and of course the AMAZING figures in the toy line.

The most recent change to this was getting the raptor and t-rex figures I named Bangers and Mash. I was so pleased with them that I began to look for more in this line –both the Imaginext and “normal” lines, honestly I’m not familiar with the specifics, but I got a few new dinos, and now most of them have arrived.

It’s also very unlike me to get toys that have movements or make sounds. I generally dislike this. But Jurassic World toys are so unbelievably cool in this regard, that I couldn’t help it and do not regret it.

The first two I want to show off are these Indominus Rex and Carnotaurus:

Their chibi proportions make them appear irresistible cute!

The Carnotaurus “Toro” is by far my favorite. He can blink, which I wish worked better (you really have to push) but he is so adorable and lifelike:

Here is his chomping action:

Even more adorably, he can look from side to side! This is truly excellent toy design.

Indominus Rex is a little fiercer-looking. You can feed her, but she will get mad if you touch her while she is eating:

This is another Indominus Rex, of the cheaper Imaginext line. I saw this at Walmart while I was with Mwako and found the concept of it hilarious. A little dino goes on its back, and supposedly Indominus Rex should fiercely and easily shake this cheeky hanger-on right off.

Instead, it is a rather futile effort, as the little guy just will NOT LET GO.

I have to admit, I was not bummed out by this failure. I like that the little dino won’t be easily lost, since he’s determined to stay on, and Indominus Rex just hangs its head so dejectedly after the failed attempts that I found it hilarious.

Those are actually poses I like to keep them on, but if you keep his head at the lowest setting, he looks SUPER sad. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Finally, I was able to find a differently-colored pair of t-rex and raptor in the ridiculously affordable XL Imaginext line. Bangers and Mash were from Walmart and sold separately for a very reasonable price, while these two come as a set on Amazon, for even less money:

And yes… I do expect to name all my dinos and give them some sort of flair. That’s what all my toys get! ๐Ÿ˜

I have just one more coming –actually, she already came (it’s Baby Blue) but I wasn’t too pleased with the paint job so I’m having her replaced. And there are two more, massive dinos I want, and I truly mean massive, but they are $50 each. I put those in my wish list for now. ๐Ÿ˜… Maybe for Christmas? I’m not sure my mom will humor me that much. It’s not the cost, it’s just that a brachiosaurus that goes past my knee might be too much.

On a final note I am very excited for the Jurassic World Evolution game coming out in November. I hope I can get it. ๐Ÿฅบ I swear in no year of my life have they ever been so many games I wanted to play!
