A Walk And More LEGO Fun With MILS Plates ๐ŸฆŽ๐ŸŒˆ

Here’s a little friend I met on a recent walk!

Today we had more fun with our LEGO. I finally got to use the four MILS plates that Christopher made for me. It’s a lot of fun to create a landscape for my tree house! We are going to set up a table for our (very small) LEGO city soon, and I’ll be including this in it.

Here is the minifig that represents Christopher. I got him a pet rat, a gameboy, and a bag of brand new LEGO, along with pants and a shirt of a more accurate color!

My minifig has a nicer haircut and more accurate hair color, a new shirt and new pants, as well as a few new accessories.

Our partner’s minifig has jeans now:

But he needs a new shirt, because I just realized this is another female torso. Sigh.

Today, with Christopher’s and our partner’s help, I made a brand new meal for dinner –Creamy Broccoli and Fennel Casserole! ๐Ÿฅ˜

It had a very unique flavour. I liked it a lot! Technically, since this is a Blue Apron meal that I saved the recipe from, I’d already had it, but I didn’t remember at all. This time I used better ingredients I’m sure, and just overall did my usual bit of doctoring that generally yields pretty great results. ๐Ÿ˜Š

LEGO Friends Friendship Tree House Is Finished! ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ™Œ

My LEGO Friends Friendship Tree House is all done! This was my favorite build yet, I really loved it so much! It is so colorful and packed with fun little details. Here’s a couple of in-progress shots, well underway by this point:

โœจ Ta-daah! โœจ

While I am not fond of the Friends line minifigs, I have to admit the actual sets are probably my faves!

Finishing LEGO Haunted House ๐Ÿ‘ป

We (well, my husband and our partner) finished building the LEGO Haunted house today! This is an intricately detailed, gorgeous building. It’s also a very fun build in spite of some repetition.

Here’s some photos of the very awesome inside:

Putting the tower together…

The first attempt at working the elevator didn’t work so well, but our partner’s scream is so perfect I can’t help but laugh every single time I watch this:

A more successful attempt:

Did you know this set belongs to LEGO’s Fairground series? There is even a register in it, to get your ticket. That’s because it is a ride, not a house!

Anyway, an absolute blast. On to the rest of our LEGO backlog!

Building LEGO Safari Wildlife Tree House ๐Ÿฆ’โœจ

While Christopher continues to build his Noodle Shop, my Wildlife Tree House is underway! I really loved the little bathroom. Though, it seems so odd to have a bathroom in a treehouse. I hear that is kind of an obsession with LEGO for some reason (bathrooms, that is –the train station one even has “poop” in it!)

After I finished building my giraffe, our partner started screwing around with the poor thing… ๐Ÿ˜‘

Some final photos!

I love the energy of this cute little set.

LEGO Fun, Incredible Pets And More! ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸฆŽ

Saturday morning we went out to do some shopping and have a really nice breakfast at First Watch. I really love this place, I miss Metro Diner so much and honestly it feels pretty much the same.

Here’s some photos we took during breakfast:

My boys being silly… ๐Ÿ˜

Then we came back to the house and played with LEGO! Christopher surprised me with two awesome little sets from Target. I started with the T. rex!

Meanwhile, everyone else began by working on the Haunted House set. Christopher was really excited about this one.

So many little bags. It’s gonna take a while to put this one together. Here’s the beginning…

After the T. rex, I began to work on this LEGO City Holiday Camper Van:

We had a lot of fun before heading out again!

For the evening, we had a reservation at Makoto’s. But before that, we visited Incredible Pets, since it is nearby. I always have mixed feelings about Incredible Pets.

On the one hand, I have never seen a pet store where animals are so well looked after. It doesn’t matter when you go: everything is impeccable, the animals have food and clean water, and look healthy, happy, energetic and playful. And I mean all the animals. Even lizards and snakes are so alert, that they show interest in people approaching the glass. There is never any smell. The place is very big and has a massive amount of animals so I can’t understand how they manage to stay on top of it to this degree, but they do.

However, I definitely have mixed feelings about the types of animals they sell. I do not doubt they do everything the legal way: there are plenty if animals you cannot buy without providing a special exotics license, and that aside they are thousands of dollars. But I see plenty of animals that should not, in my opinion, ever be sold as pets.

The lemurs belong to the store. They have a very large area, and always seem happy, clean, playful and well fed. They are super interested in anyone approaching them. But you know, one would still rather they were in the wild. They are so cute, though. Seeing them so close and watching them interact and respond is amazing.

Our partner was really taken with the ferrets, which are his favorite animals. They all wanted his attention and gave him chews and licks.

Here’s some video of him playing with them:

Possibly the most amazing thing in the store was the already-sold fennec fox. Its container was definitely small, particularly for the INSANE energy that was obviously contained within this little animal. It really wanted out, and it wanted to play with everyone. My guess is by now it is in a much bigger space, running to his heart’s content, and yet… not where he should be, which is sad.

But it was nice to see one in person. You don’t get to interact with a fennec fox like this in a zoo. While I wish the opportunity hadn’t been there, it was still kind of cool.

Here’s a little video of Christopher playing with it/trying to get its attention:

I think these are bearded dragons? They were super cute.

I got some cute video of them too:

My mom-in-law got a really amazing shot of her own!

Surprisingly with all the exotics around, my favorite thing that I saw were the degus. Perhaps they will be my next pet.

There were also tortoises, a dream pet of mine. So many and so small and cute.

I forget what these were called. But they were pretty neat too.

After we were done with Incredible Pets, we went to dinner.

On the drive to the restaurant, we saw an enormous eagle’s nest on a pole. It was kinda nuts!

Family photo while waiting for our table… ๐Ÿ’•

The meal was great as always!

After dinner we snuck in a bit more LEGO time. The Haunted House is now well underway!

Uh-oh…

Oh, and I finished my camper van!

We went home on Sunday. It was a really nice weekend!

LEGO Time! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ™‚

Though we try to save LEGO for date night, today in the afternoon we just couldn’t resist!

Christopher is building the Noodle Shop. This was his progress for the day:

As for me, I did the owl and hedgie reading a book together! ๐Ÿฆ”๐Ÿฆ‰๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ“–โœจ

I’m tickled by the fact that the head fully rotates.

It was so much fun! I can’t wait to build together again.

Building LEGO Jurassic Park T. rex Breakout! ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ’ฅ

Thursday, as always, is date night. You know what that means! LEGO time! It was actually our third sitting with this set. We try to savor them slowly.

The manual is thick, and full of movie references and photos. Here’s the cover!

I built the T. Rex and the minifigs, while Christopher built everything else. It may seem weird since this was my birthday present from my sis in law but even like this, it took us a while. I’d rather build sets together anyway, and I am very slow.

Here’s photos of the build in progress:

Our partner didn’t build anything but provided comedic relief.

โœจ All done! โœจ

Well, mostly. I want to adjust the position of some stuff later.

After LEGO building was done, our partner and I went to get dinner at the food trucks near us. They looked pretty with all the lights as the sun was setting. The air full of wonderful smells and the sounds of happy people.

It was one of those moments that weirdly feel like they will stick in my mind, holding our partner’s hand, taking all of those things in with all my senses, the too-warm air yet pleasant atmosphere, a happy, safe feeling. It was a really nice evening.

Voted For The First Time In My Life!! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

I voted for the first time in my life today! I was too young to vote when I left my country of birth and only became a citizen last year. I feel so fortunate to be able to exercise this precious right!

Later, Christopher and I went on a little LEGO hunt. We went to Barnes & Noble, Target, and the LEGO Store in Sawgrass Mills. Our Target has a really neat display!

The morning of this day I went on a long sunrise walk. I saw a really cool vintage car!

The sunrise, too, was pretty…
