Birthday Tea Time!

My cramps were terrible this morning โ€”the worst theyโ€™ve been in maybe 3 years. Tea almost had to be cancelled! But four painkillers and a hot compress later, I managed to get ready to goโ€ฆ no fancy dress this time. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ I couldnโ€™t handle it feeling like that. I still felt decently cute, though.

Oh yeah –somehow, I forgot to show off this bag until today! The reason is that I got it during the recent vacation, as an early birthday present from Christopher. By which I mean I saw it at Boxlunch while Christopher was miles away (we spent that day in separate places) and I told him I’d had to have it even if I overdrafted my bank account. So, would he go halfsies with me on it as a birthday present?

In the end, he covered the whole cost, knowing how much this movie means to me on a spiritual level. ๐Ÿ˜ But I wasnโ€™t allowed to touch or take photos of it or anything until my actual birthday. And then I forgot because I’d hidden it. Anyway –here it is!

Christopher wore one of Grandpaโ€™s shirts today, so I took this photo to send to Grandma. Itโ€™s been just a couple of days since the first anniversary of Grandpaโ€™s passing… The flag was a gift from Grandma too so I included it in the photo:

Mignon was my companion for this outing!

๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŽ€ Time For Tea ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿฐ

Hereโ€™s Mignon with my first tea pick, a peaches and cream tea. Itโ€™s a favorite of mine.

Then we had quichรฉ and tomato soup!

Finally the best part came! I didnโ€™t take a photo of the tray this time… It’s the same as usual –lots of delicious finger sandwiches and sweets.

They always put so much effort in the little details!

We took our time and really enjoyed ourselves. It’ll be a while before we get to go again.

After tea, we went to walk around Tateโ€™s Comics. Then Christopher began to look for some other place to go before heading home, but so many old places we frequented had shut down permanently because of Covid… I just sat and played with Mignon while he looked on his phone.

Mignon might have gotten a little restless after a whileโ€ฆ

Eventually we went to a retro antique store and to a thrift shop. We didnโ€™t have any intention of shopping, but I found this book for just $1:

If you know these characters (you probably donโ€™t) you know how hard this stuff is to find! Canโ€™t beat it at just one dollar.

It really was a wonderful time. I didnโ€™t have the heart to tell Lia (the owner) that it might be months/over a year before we can go again. ๐Ÿ˜ขWith our current situation, I think we will be lucky to be able have such a treat for our next anniversaryโ€ฆ but it was such a lovely time, and I feel so lucky that we didn’t have to cancel it.

Yard Work ๐Ÿฆ—

Even though I’m not doing okay mentally, I managed to be pretty helpful in the yard without as much whining as I feared I might have done. I ended up in a ton of pain but I helped raking leaves and with Christopher we put down two pallets of sod together. I also did a lot of pressure cleaning.

More than anything I am relieved that considering how I am currently feeling I managed to be cheerful most of the time because I really don’t want to bring my family down with my nonsense, again.

๐Ÿ› Working On The Yard ๐Ÿ›

My mom in law found a cute caterpillar while raking leaves so she let me take him to a safe place. He was such a cutie:

Here’s some video of the little bugger, too:

I really didn’t want to be the first one to tap out (and I only stopped maybe 15 minutes before everyone else, after working since before 8:00am) but I was actually crying by that point because of the terribly pain in my old wrist injury. I think it’ll be okay though.

These photos are from when I came back inside. Almost every area of uncovered skin looked like my arm. ๐Ÿ˜…

Oh yeah –the fridge behind me is the new fridge. It was delivered today. It’s a pretty nice fridge.

Here are some photos of our freshly sodded and pressure cleaned yard and house. The first pallet had some kinda bad squares, but Christopher said it will all grow in very nicely.

After going back in, I showered and sat down to relax for a bit. I had a package to open.

๐ŸŽˆ Birthday Present From Drake ๐ŸŽˆ

My friend Drake sent me a really fancy birthday present! It’s a very cute (but very good, it’s not a toy) crayon sharpener. I hope to use it on the next Little playdate.

Mojito was admiring it too!

Thank you Drakey for such a very lovely present. ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

๐Ÿฐ Scrapbooking Time ๐Ÿฐ

After that I worked a bit on my scrapbook and watched Crayon Shin-Chan. Mignon wanted to watch so I prepared his little chair for him to sit on.

And that was that for the day. Eventually I began working on chores. Grandma made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. The day didn’t end on a bad note. Perhaps I’ll cheer up tomorrow, I’m going to try!

Evening With Mom! ๐Ÿ’œ

Hi hi, everyone! If youโ€™re coming here from Twitter, Iโ€™ll see your comments tomorrow. Iโ€™m at my momโ€™s now so I can cross post stuff but not respond to Twitter comments.

So! A new friend arrived today! Mignon was ready to help him out of the box:

His name is Beanie!! On account of his very cute beans! ๐Ÿพ

I love him, he has long dangling arms, almost a little monkey-like. Heโ€™s a sweet little bear.

Since his outfit obscures him a little, here you can see him before I dressed him up:

Iโ€™m having a great time with my mom. We snacked and drank wine, she made milanesas and we had them while watching The Handmaidโ€™s Tale.

The cats have been super affectionate, especially Sweeney. They seem to have missed me. I managed to snag a really cute photo of Shampoo:

Now Iโ€™m very sleepy, and in bed with Beanie…

Tomorrow should be a pretty chill day. Drawing, watching TV together and relaxing together. Iโ€™m looking forward to that. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Welcome, Mignon! ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅ•

My little Mignon (AKA Cabbage Rose by Charlie Bears) arrived today! Itโ€™s odd, when I first took him out I didnโ€™t like his face AT ALL. It was an instant, oh, back you go, buddy. I really did box him back up and start looking at the return process. He just looks… grumpy? Haha.

But I donโ€™t know, I dressed, brushed him, and then suddenly I loved him. Basically Iโ€™m fickle as balls, okay. So he stays. I love how poseable his ears are.

Heโ€™s already joined me for date night snack, and is gonna be with me for dinner and Tetris and puzzle-making. ๐Ÿ˜

Doesnโ€™t he look cute in his sweater, too! Itโ€™s by HalandMacy on Etsy.
