Back To Normal ๐ŸŒž

Happy Sunday, everyone! Time for yet another week’s recap. All of this week I felt very overwhelmed. There is so much to do… I don’t know how I can ever catch up… but I guess eventually I’ll manage it. Anyway, let’s get to what happened this week!

๐ŸŒˆ Monday ๐ŸŒˆ

Monday was Mwako’s last day with us. We went out to breakfast and shopping one final time, and then he was off to the airport.

At Publix he sneakily got this Jurassic World Dominion shopping bag that he surprised me with before leaving… I love it!

We did one final Target stop, where I finally caved and got the Ankylosaurus that I’d picked up and put back on the shelf three times prior. At home, he quickly made friends with Bumpy!

Also at Target, I found this awesome coloring book of Turning Red. It has wonderful illustrations and activities –stickers, too!

I also got another Highlights Hidden Pictures book. I love these so much. The old-timey pen and ink illustrations give me life!

The last lovely find was this little gliding Bowser Jr.! Isn’t he adorable?

For dinner we had salmon. And that was that for Monday. I don’t have anything to share until Thursday because I was just so busy.

๐ŸŒˆ Thursday ๐ŸŒˆ

For Thursday I have a few odds-and-ends. Firstly, I installed the bird feeder that my mom in law gave to me, and added a cob of corn for good measure:

Also –this is older, but I only photographed it today. It’s a very gently used The Lost World: Jurassic Park baby triceratops figure by Kenner:

Brand new, this can go well over a hundred dollars. She came out of the box and with no egg, but she was only $25… so I am happy.

Also, I hung my little Bowser Jr. from the studio ceiling so he looks like he’s gliding!

Today our partner and I released some ladybugs to fight the aphids in our brand new almond bush. The ladybugs were exposed to the heat for too long on the way to us, but most of them revived and immediately went to work:

Later in the afternoon, at the insistence of friends, I took a break to play some Pokรฉmon Sword and have a snack:

I drank another of my Good2Grow Podz, this one is a baby T. rex, so cute!

๐ŸŒˆ Saturday ๐ŸŒˆ

Saturday was stressful. Kotoko has been vomiting, sometimes a little pink (meaning there was blood, at least once). We’ve been in constant contact with our vet, and finally at her advice we brought her in. Kotoko was a very good girl, as always.

Multiple tests were done and we will see what the results say, for now we have special foods and nausea meds. Hopefully it is nothing serious.

In the evening, the three of us went out to dinner. We ate at El Balcรณn De Las Americas. It was a good place, we will go there again. Since we were a bilingual table, our very nice waiter gave us a bilingual dessert:

Later that night I decided to dress Grover up in pajamas, since all he ever does is sleep with me anyway:

๐ŸŒˆ Sunday ๐ŸŒˆ

On Sunday I went on a little date with our partner while Christopher rested and enjoyed some solitude. He couldn’t get us out the door fast enough, but I think he would have enjoyed this place were it not for the heat. We went to the Yellow Green Farmers Market. The best thing was the smells –like fair food stalls on steroids! We had carne a la vara, with arepas. It was awesome.

The people at this stall could use some help spelling, but it was pretty hilarious:

A lot of people bring their dogs here. This pupper was at a stall that sold… either carved wood items of some sort, or candles, or both. I forget.

He or she was in fact a good guard dog, but only as far as other puppers were concerned. I could get this close without any sort of reaction! If any dogs got anywhere in sight though (even far off!) this pupper would perk up and bark fiercely… without ever leaving his or her little perch. ๐Ÿ˜

Anyway, that was a lovely time. I’m really treasuring the memories made. ๐Ÿ’•

Back To Pokรฉmon Sword!

After a couple of years’ break, I’ve returned to finish this! I’ve been in a big Pokรฉmon mood recently, listening to old songs from the show and movies, and really enjoying battling again.

For what I’m sure are obvious reasons, my Greedent Nut Cake became my favorite Pokรฉmon of this generation. He’s so fun to battle with! And he’s a squirrel!

Just look at my guy… such a cutie…

I saved some video of him playing:

And I’ll never get tired of Gigantamaxing him. It’s hilarious:

My second favorite Pokรฉmon to battle with, from this particular team, is my trusty Mudbray, Sriracha:

Raichu is very cute too, but I still have to name her:

One aspect of Pokรฉmon Sword that I’m not crazy about is choices that aren’t really choices? Like this…

It’s so annoying to me. More recent gens seem to always have this. Don’t give me choices that are virtually the same or won’t have any weight in game AT ALL, you know?

I do like this guy though, he has a really strong presence:

Anyway that’s it for now, I’ll be sure to post again as I complete my Pokรฉmon Sword playthrough, for which I hope to get the expansion pass as well.

Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ [Final Overall Thoughts] โš™๏ธ๐ŸŽฉ

Well, it is done. I finished the last fandisc of this wonderful series, the first otome series that I ever played. In the post below I’ll share my favorite moments and CGs of this fandisc and some final thoughts on the series overall. After my husband brought me into the wonderful world of visual novels with the treat that was Ever17, this was a great introduction to the otome subgenre!

This post contains spoilers for Code: Realize ~Guardian Of Rebirth~ soโ€ฆ donโ€™t read it if you plan to play it!!

SPOILERS AHEAD! BIG ONES! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

Welcome, April! ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒˆโ˜”

Happy April, everyone! Boy, this was one stressful week, but it did have good moments regardless. Not only was our house painted this week, but we cleaned the back porch (a grueling task every time as you might recall) I was on my period for half the week, had to do our taxes, go to an appointment at the Social Security Administration office, I visited my mom to celebrate her birthday, and went on a couple of outings with my husband and our partner.

This is my sorry face

So if you are among the multiple people I’ve left on read these past few days… I am so sorry, and you are still on my mind, and not forgotten… it’s been a heck of a week… I’ll be catching up with messages as the week rolls on.

I also played a lot of Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ (I’m on Cantarella’s story right now) and we are watching Tenchi Muyo so I felt the above GIF was appropiate. ^_^

๐ŸŒˆ Monday ๐ŸŒˆ

Monday was fairly quiet. I worked on commissions and did housework, but was a bit subdued due to my period. Our house began to be prepped for painting on this day.

For lunch, I made toasted rice balls for our partner and I. He’d never had them before.

Got to use my new Bluey plate, cutlery and bowl, so that made me happy.

And speaking of Bluey –here is a coloring book I got recently:

The pages are kinda thin, so I’ll just scan and reprint on thicker paper when I want to color it. This is actually how I preserve most of my coloring books, including many vintage ones!

๐ŸŒˆ Tuesday ๐ŸŒˆ

Tuesday was the Social Security appointment (for my name change). It went smoothly, other than the security guard at the entrance being so intimidating towards everyone, especially older people who could not understand English nor understand what was going on. Even though inside plenty of signage indicates accommodating if you need an interpreter, the officer was aggressive and angry towards these poor mostly Latin people who barely spoke English and were so confused and even frightened by his demeanor. ๐Ÿ˜

Once that was done, I walked to Target. I saw these traffic cones on the way that grass had grown right through. Seems the grass around them was mowed without the cones being moved a few times. I thought it looked interesting enough for a picture:

By the time I got home, a lot of progress had been done on the house painting. Here is a before and after at that point in time (I’ll have a final update next week):

I didn’t have much time to admire the house. I had to finish all my chores, and pack, and then our partner drove me to my mom’s. She and I went to dinner pretty soon after I got there to celebrate her birthday:

I had primavera pizza! It’s my favorite because it has egg:

Once we got home, my mom opened her birthday present. Christopher bought her a laptop (her computer was ANCIENT). She was really happy –Sweeney tested it immediately! Meanwhile, Shampoo enjoyed laying on a crinkly paper bag. To each their own.

๐ŸŒˆ Wednesday ๐ŸŒˆ

Wednesday was my mom and I’s usual peaceful morning of TV, mate, and conversation. I also drew and played a bit of Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ here and there.

Gumdrop had his first taste of mate!

My mom had a really big surprise for me! She was able to find my favorite childhood cookies, which I have not had for over twenty years!

They have zodiac signs on them:

A close similar cookie was Pepperidge Farm’s chessmen chocolate cookies, but I think they were discontinued in my area a long time ago. I can’t find them anywhere anymore. Anyway, my mom got me like three bags of these, so that was a wonderful surprise!

For Wednesday night dinner, my mom made fries (my favorite)!

As if that weren’t enough, she made a legit Argentinean bizcochuelo for dessert, another big treat. The mix was yet another childhood favorite that she was able to acquire recently through a shopping service.

After dinner, my guys picked me up. At home I had yet another wonderful surprise waiting for me! At first I couldn’t find Yoshi anywhere and I was sure our partner had hidden him or placed him in some sort of unfortunate situation, as he tends to do to my toys. But Yoshi turned out to be waiting for me on my desk, and he was holding the Limited Run visual novel I’ve been begging Christopher for!

It’s The House In Fata Morgana. I’ve heard many good things about it.

That, and watching TV and cuddling all together, made for a wonderful end to my day.

๐ŸŒˆ Thursday ๐ŸŒˆ

I forgot to share this other surprise my mom gave me during my visit! Last time she got me the Mafalda figure and magazine. This time it was Manolito:

On Thursday I walked to Target to pick up an online order. I wanted to get one of these dino clickers, mostly as a desk fidget toy. His head and legs click when you move them. He’s really cute.

For date night, I made another massive snack spread, while the guys continued playing Kirby and I watched. Didn’t get quite so drunk on this day, but it was still a nice time.

Also, on this day, more engines arrived!

They are so, SO well made, utterly perfect in every way! I received Thomas, Percy, Gordon, and my favorite boy, James!

The facial expressions are great; Percy’s in particular is hilarious:

I wish they’d given James his angry face, but I love them all.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Henry, and Cranky when they remake him too.

๐ŸŒˆ Friday ๐ŸŒˆ

Since we had our date night in on Thursday, Friday was our day out. First we went out to ramen!

The atmosphere outside was spooky. Not only was it rainy, but the Everglades were on fire, and you could clearly see the smoke amidst the clouds. Our car was covered in ash!

After lunch we went to Monster MiniGolf. It was really fun! We took this photo of one of the animatronics:

I don’t even know who won. I just know it wasn’t me and I had lots of fun. Before going home, we passed by Dollar Tree, where I got a couple of Arthur puzzles, a giant dinosaur coloring book, and a velvet dino coloring stand:

I also got a little bandana for my Grogu:

Then we went home to bed and watched TV for ages, it was very cozy. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐ŸŒˆ Saturday ๐ŸŒˆ

Saturday was exhausting. I did lots of chores, and helped a bit with the porch cleaning (I did a bigger amount of that yesterday, but on Friday our partner did most of the remaining cleaning). Then I put all the furniture back. It looks wonderful, even if it was a lot of work:

I also redecorated the litter box area a bit. ๐Ÿ˜ธ Some things still need to be hung back up (a lot was taken down due to the painting) but there’s only so much time in a single week…

The porch and chores such as laundry basically took my entire day, but I was able to relax a little in the evening.

๐ŸŒˆ Sunday ๐ŸŒˆ

On Sunday our partner and I went on a little solo date, it’s not a common occurrence since we generally prefer to do everything the three of us together, but Christopher had been desperately craving some alone time to just veg at home without us being our usual obnoxious selves around him. ๐Ÿ˜…

We went to the Perez Art Museum Miami, and to Wynwood for lunch and a little ice cream. We saw some cool stuff but I didn’t get any photos other than these:

After that we were on a quest to find fancy soaps, which we didn’t find, but I got these cool crayons:

Then I made dinner and we just relaxed. That was the end to a week that was at times fun, at times stressful, but good overall, as most weeks have been lately. There’s a lot of love in our home and I feel very lucky, even if things are hectic sometimes and it seems like we never stop doing things. ๐Ÿ˜Š

BBQ Sunday!

This was a super productive Sunday! I got art done, lots of housework, progress on a book chapter, and even got some gaming in. All the while, since noon, the house was imbued with the smell of BBQ pork being cooked in the smoker on the porch. It was heavenly! The pork cooked for, I think, about nine hours? It was a lot of work. I myself don’t have the patience to baby meat for that long, but I admit I really enjoyed the results of my partners’ hard work. ๐Ÿ˜

I’m still trying to get through Sholmรจs’ route. I’m so done with this fandisc, lol. But I want to finish it.

There was also homemade mac ‘n cheese, with which I helped a little. It was pretty decadent.

The meat was literally falling apart, it was incredible.

Had a little wine with it too! After waiting and smelling it for so many hours we were dying to eat. Tomorrow night we are having it again, but on tacos!

It was another lovely evening. Most of all, I was glad that I got some book progress in.

Mid-March Weekly Summary ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿ›

Hello, everyone! I hope youโ€™ve had a happy week! Itโ€™s been very busy for us, as all weeks have been lately. So, as has become the norm for my blog, I just have one long post to catch you all up on the weekโ€™s happenings.

For starters, I am sick again. It seems I had one week of relief in between head colds. Itโ€™s very mild (milder than the prior one). Just really annoying. Anyway! Letโ€™s begin.

๐Ÿ› Curry Dinner! ๐Ÿ›

On Tuesday night, I made Japanese style curry. Iโ€™ve had many previous attempts that didnโ€™t turn out so great. Finally I figured it out, trying a new recipe which I doctored a bit. My guys loved it, as did I, and Iโ€™m looking forward to having it again with different meats.

๐ŸŽ‚ Christopher’s 38th Birthday Dinner ๐ŸŽ‚

Wednesday was Christopherโ€™s birthday! He got his remaining presents in the morning, and in the evening, we went to The Capital Grille in Downtown Miami. It was an extremely fancy restaurant, a real treat, so I dressed up a little.

Christopher was… excited.

All the food was wonderful, but I didn’t have my phone (forgot it in the car) so I didn’t take many pictures. Here is one of the appetizer, though, Tuna Tartare:

It was spicy. We also got a picture of Christopher with his birthday dessert:

๐Ÿงธ Toklo ๐Ÿงธ

Toklo now has a new ribbon and shirt. He still needs his name necklace, I’ll work on that next week.

The shirt is pretty funny, it was a Build-A-Bear online exclusive.

๐Ÿš‚ Date Night ๐Ÿš‚

For date night, we had one more round of playing with our trains before putting them away. We’ll probably play again in a month or two; I’m sure I’ll want to, as my new Thomas things begin to arrive later this month.

A little video…

Toklo got to play with us too:

The cats always love to observe and walk among the track. They don’t destroy anything, they just get excited by it all.

Afterwards we had tea. They gamed for a bit while I kept fiddling with Instagram, setting up my new art account. It was a nice, chill end to a lovely evening together.

๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ Rosie ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

Have some cute photos I took of Rosie. I woke her up from her morning nap and played with her a little. She is such a soft, sweet little thing!

๐Ÿฅž Pancake Breakfast ๐Ÿฅž

This weekend, Christopher’s mom and grandma came to visit and celebrate Christopher’s birthday. We went to Nami Sushi for Friday night dinner and to a Thai place on Saturday evening. On Saturday morning, we had pancakes. Christopher made me a mouse-shaped one, so I decorated it:

It was very yummy!

Unfortunately I spent a lot of the weekend in a very crabby mood due to being sick. I am not very sick, but it is annoying. It makes it harder to do anything, and I am constantly sleepy. It also got a lot colder on Saturday night, and the cold makes me lazier. Hopefully I get my energy back again real soon.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Goodies From This Week ๐Ÿ“ฆ

I have a few new things to share. One is this new top I got on Etsy. It appears very wrinkled in this photo, but it’s really very cute:

I also got a Super Mario coloring/sticker book and a Camp Cretaceous activity play-pack:

Finally, we went on a Goodwill stroll yesterday, and I had two happy finds. One is this lovely old storybook:

And the other is this awesome, massive Sesame Street blanket that I covered my futon with. I love it! It is like new, and only six bucks.

That is all for this week’s post. I am tired, and busy… I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and I look forward to sharing another week of art with you as I get back to my drawing board on Monday.

Visiting Mom Again ๐Ÿ’•

I came to visit my mom this week! Our visiting schedule has mostly resumed, with COVID thankfully winding down. She ordered coxinhas again and we had them for dinner.

Below are some spoilers for Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ soโ€ฆ donโ€™t read any more if you plan to play it!!

In the evening I played Wintertide Miracles a little more.

Recently I finished Finis’ route/scenario, it was very sweet, with some beautiful art…

And some pretty funny moments, adding to prior ones.

Currently I’m on Shรณlmes route. I’m kinda ready to be done with this fandisc if I’m honest, I have so many other games I’m super excited to play, which unlike this fandisc have choices/things to actually do, lol. Plus, I find Shรณlmes kind of boring, generally… I do like it when he’s jealous though.

Also, this was hilarious. Good old Impey.

For a late lunch today, my mom made the rest of the Giacomo Capelettini that she bought for my last visit. Again, a huge treat to enjoy this taste from my childhood!

For dessert we had flan made by the same person who made the coxinhas. It was incredible!

We watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which my mom has been watching for a while but I am new to –I loved it, I’m sure Christopher will be hooked too if he starts watching it.

Anyway, now that I’m back home, I have to unpack!

Summary Of The Fourth Week Of January! ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿฆ†

Weโ€™ve had some chilly mornings this week! Enough for me to wear my sweater during my walks, which Iโ€™ve enjoyed more than usual as a result.

However, this week also had some lows. On and off I’ve been a tad depressed, in spite of so much to look forward to. Time is moving very slowly for us right now, as we are excited about the very immediate future, and it all seems so slowly in coming. It’s stressful, and some of the happiness I feel feels wrong, for complicated reasons. It will get better, as will the stress and anxiety, but it feels as though time is passing like molasses, as they say.

I’ve also had a litany of minor accidents, maybe my mind being so lost in “stuff” has made me careless. As of Friday morning when I write this (which I will finish in the evening) it doesn’t feel like a great week, but that might change as the day goes on, who knows.

๐Ÿฆ† Sunday ๐Ÿฆ†

On Sunday I saw a cute duck during my walk, just foraging in the grass. It wasnโ€™t scared of me so I was able to get a good photo.

I took a different route on this day, which Iโ€™m sure I will take again. Itโ€™s very peaceful and with nice views.

Here are a couple of photos of Rosemary and Elliot that I took in the afternoonโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒˆ Monday ๐ŸŒˆ

Monday was productive but also a bit lonesome because Christopher had to work late. I kept busy though, and had a pretty good day overall. In the morning, I went on a very long walk. It was nice and cold. I went all the way to Barnes and Noble and got a cheap little book, then walked to our local Cuban coffee shop and had lunch while I read. It was so pleasant.

I took a break from commissions to play Yoshi’s Island. This game is so cute and colorful!

๐Ÿ€ Tuesday ๐Ÿ€

On Tuesday I met a sluggy friend at the start of my walk! It was so big! I wanted to take it home with me so badly, but it was not a good time to do that. I never see these guys, just their trails. It was longer than my index finger.

This one was really fast moving, too. It was moving right over the hot sidewalk too, in the middle of a very dry day. Very odd. I wanted to assist it to the grass, but I didn’t want to touch it, so for a bit I didn’t know what to do.

In the end I grabbed the biggest blade of grass I could find, and had it crawl over it. Then I could gently pick it up and place it on the grass it was trying to move towards all along.

It disappeared into the grass very quickly. Kinda made my day to see it. Gastropods are so cool!

I stopped by the Cuban place again after my long walk. More reading and snacking delicious food after (or rather in the middle/as a break from) exercise. It’s such a delight.

I bought Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea today because watching Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water has me really excited to read it (and I’ve wanted to for years anyway). In addition, Christopher let me have a special treat today!

The Jurassic Park / The Lost World special edition from Barnes & Noble. I’m so excited to read it!

During two of my walks this week, I listened to a new podcast (well, new to me): Medical Murders. I started with this two-parter about Dr. Morris Bolber. I highly recommend it and have embedded it below:

CW: Blood mention in the paragraph below.

On this day I also managed to pinch my finger with the camera tripod quite terribly, but the skin didn’t break. I did bleed a good amount, under the skin, which had never happened to me before! It grew into a large blood bubble. I had to poke it with a needle like three times during the afternoon, just trying to get all the blood out. It was so painful! And would only be the first “accident” I had this week.

๐Ÿฉน Wednesday ๐Ÿฉน

To begin with, while I was having breakfast on Wednesday morning, our neighbor’s sprinkler burst quite spectacularly:

Most of Wednesday was wonderful. I worked on commissions and on personal art, and overall made a lot of progress. I did housework, and our friend’s brother worked for hours in his future bedroom. I had to bring down a lot of the things I had hanging on the wall, since his work on the other side was making them move around rather precariously. But by the evening, the wall no longer had holes, and the closet door frame was nice and smooth:

In the late afternoon, I went on my walk and also to the grocery store, determined to make a nice dinner for Christopher. Shopping went well, but by the time I left the store, it was nighttime, and here is when my day went from pleasant to, well, not so. ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Recently, I’ve had more and more instances of running into shady people on the sometimes nearly-pitch-black streets during my evening walks. I try to avoid it, but sometimes I leave the house too close to sunset without realizing it.

Some instances I suspect are likely nothing, but still scary, such as the van that was stopped ahead of me recently, as though waiting, and when I saw it and stopped walking, waiting for it to drive off, it instead backed all the way up until it reached me, and when I started frantically walking ahead again trying to get away, a woman in the passenger seat began to relentlessly try to get my attention, only to apologize profusely when I began to call Christopher on the phone (and then driving off).

These people were likely lost, and I felt silly to be frightened, but to have that happen in a dark empty street at night away from anyone is very scary, especially when you watch as many crime documentaries as I do. ๐Ÿ˜… Anyway, there have been similar instances (which is why I’m glad to have the pepper spray Christopher got me) and that last one had left me a bit rattled. So I wasn’t happy that I didn’t make it out of Publix until after sunset on this particular day.

Because of this, I avoided the street on which the aforementioned event took place, since I feel so vulnerable there, and instead went in the direction of Pines Boulevard. This was much busier (technically) being the main street, but surprisingly dark too. I walked as fast as I could, with my big heavy cart full of groceries, pepper spray in hand.

At one point, I saw a man ahead of me, walking in my direction. Since we were both in the middle of the sidewalk, I moved all the way to the left. Instead of moving to the right to pass me, he did the same thing. I thought it was an awkward miscommunication, so I quickly moved all the way to the right, even though it was very hard to maneuver my heavy cart. Well… the man promptly did the same, as he continued to approach me while staring me down. He was trying to block my path in a very obvious manner. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Now I knew I had a problem. Promptly I moved back to the left, rushing to pass him before he could try to block my way again, and as I did this, he very aggressively tried to get my attention, going “Excuse me, EXCUSE ME” not in the tone of someone who needs help, but in the tone of someone who is trying to intimidate or confront you. He got as physically close as he could, too. He sounded even angrier when I ignored him completely. I rushed ahead, looking back to make sure he wasn’t following me (thankfully he didn’t) and soon turned into the neighborhood.

I was pretty panicked, silly as it may sound, because this guy could have easily attacked me and I don’t think anyone would have noticed in time to help me. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ And the neighborhood was much darker and empty than the street where this took place. So I felt even more scared. I pushed my cart as fast as I could, almost running… and then suddenly everything turned upside down. There was a hard dip on the sidewalk, that at a slower speed or had my cart been less full, would have simply stopped me on my tracks. I could not see it in the dark. Well, stop me it did… but I was going so fast that the cart tipped over ahead of me, and I went completely over it. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I’m sure it would have been hilarious to see (though thankfully, no one did) but it was probably the most spectacular fall I ever had in my life. It was extremely painful, and so sudden. Having confirmed no bones were broken, I threw things back in my cart and tried to keep rushing on, only to notice that my cart was kind of wrecked and bent out of shape. It looked as though it may fall apart at any moment. This turned out not to be the case upon inspection at home, but at that moment it certainly seemed so, and just rolling it was almost impossible.

Here I started losing it, so I called Christopher (who, being still at work, could do nothing to help me) basically to cry at him. But as I try, three times, to explain what has happened, the call keeps breaking up. He can’t understand me, and is getting very worried; I’m getting frustrated beyond belief and nearly sobbing at this point –and then as I’m still on the phone with Christopher, our friend calls me. He was right by the house, moving more things in. I couldn’t believe my good fortune.

Anyway, he comes to rescue me, and as I’m sitting in his car and in the subsequent minutes the dull pain I had grows astronomically. I wanted to just have a good cry so badly. But there was a lot to do –get my groceries in, get his stuff in too. ๐Ÿ˜” He calmed me down a little and left. But by then I’d lost all my motivation to make dinner, and my mood had tanked pretty badly and remained so even into the next morning.

I ended up having a hot dog for dinner, and that is after cookies… I just wanted to feel better. ๐ŸŒญ

Christopher was a little down on this evening, too. Back pain among other things. But we helped each other feel better.

โœจ Thursday โœจ

Even though I didn’t sleep so well, by the time I really started my morning I had perked up. โœŠ All morning long Christopher kept teasing smiles out of me, and just being affectionate and sweet, it made me feel pretty Little and I was significantly cheered up by the time he was off to work. He really has had such an impact in me just getting through this week. I don’t know what I would do without him.

I did some of my chores and had fun working on my half of a trade with Priddy, as well as even more commissions. ๐Ÿ˜Š And I finished reading this book:

It was quite good and I realized upon finishing that it’s by the same author who wrote Jip: His Story (another book I own and love) who, of course, is also the author of the famous Bridge To Terabithia which, surprisingly, I’ve never read. I guess I should, given that I clearly love Paterson’s writing.

In the afternoon Christopher and I spent lots of time together doing nothing but cuddling on the couch and talking –about our lives, our relationship, the future and its possibilities. Then I made dinner and we watched TV. And then we just went to bed. It was a quiet but cozy night.

In the evening I received Priddy’s half of our trade (you can see my half in the art summary below). Priddy is the first person to draw the bear version of my fursona:

I love everything about this drawing, it was a highlight of my day and quite fitting for this accident-filled week… ๐Ÿค•

๐Ÿ“š Friday ๐Ÿ“š

Overall, this week I have been doing a lot of reading. ๐Ÿ“– In addition to reading Lyddie from cover to cover and FINALLY finishing The Beasts Of Tarzan, I began Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Seas. ๐Ÿฆ‘

On Friday I finished yet another commission as well as a piece of personal art that might become a YCH. I cleaned the snail tank too, and a lot more work got done in the room for our friend by his brother –by end of day tomorrow, it should be fully finished and then we can take care of the final details, such as adding a closet system, reinstalling the fan and putting the closet doors back in place.

My stress level is still quite high, I’m still kinda down in the dumps, it comes and goes. Even tonight I’m still banged up from the fall, my arm and legs hurt, I’m irritable… but I’m also happy, I’ve gotten so much work done, and even when I feel down, Christopher is right here, keeping me grounded so to speak. Things will be right as rain again very soon. In the meantime, I’m working as hard as I can and staying focused.

๐ŸŽจ Weekly Summary Of Art ๐ŸŽจ

Here is all the art I’ve completed and posted this week, in case you missed the individual posts! WARNING: KINK ART/ARTISTIC NUDITY BELOW THE CUT.

I’m going to start posting these summaries every week. It’s really nice to just be able to see all my progress for a given week in one place (and if you missed anything, you can view it here).

Especially considering that this doesn’t take the weekend into account, it’s been a very productive week. I’ve more than halved my commission queue and even done personal art, gift art, and a trade! Not too bad. ๐Ÿ˜Š I’d like to get to Monday with the four remaining pieces in my queue lined.

Summary Of Another Happy Week ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ

Hello everyone, how are you? ๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™ve had a really happy week so far. Christopher has worked late every night this week, which has been theโ€ฆ whatโ€™s the opposite of a highlight? Anyway, it was the one bummer about the week. I got used to having him home in the afternoons. ๐Ÿ˜” However, we still managed to have lots of quality time together somehow. That did make up for it, and was really nice.

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Monday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Monday I got lots of commission work done, and that night I made a nice salmon dinner:

Also, I deleted the Twitter app again, at least for now. Really, the only difference it makes is that I canโ€™t look at my lists or follows (my Internet blocks still allow me to post and reply on my browser). I did it because the negativity was getting to me a bit again, and I was spending too much time on it. Iโ€™ll check in again at some point, maybe during the weekend (writing this part of the post on Wednesday, even though I’ll be wrapping it up Saturday or Sunday). But truly the benefit is always immediate. Suddenly I have lots of extra time and feel less stressed. ๐Ÿ˜…

Since I always have to be reading something, not using my phone/Twitter means that Iโ€™ve gone back to playing Wintertide Miracles as well as reading the Tarzan trilogy. Iโ€™m almost done with the last volume (The Beasts of Tarzan).

As Iโ€™ve read these books, I really marvel that they made a kidsโ€™ movie with this as the source material. Itโ€™s really kind of hilarious. These are not child-friendly books, but that is the least of the issues with them, really. ๐Ÿ˜… Let’s just say that I think today, Disney would not touch these books for a possible adaptation with a ten foot pole. I’ll go into more detail in a future post.

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Tuesday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

I finally secured my new t-rex to the wall (and also to the shelf, just in case it tips over). Doesnโ€™t she look amazing! The Imaginext baby raptors and t-rexes are large, around 9โ€ tall, so that gives you an idea of how massive my new lady is:

On this day I also went to Target and to the craft store for ingredients to make handmade chocolates for my Valentines. ๐Ÿฅฐ I saw this little book while at Target and took a photo because it was so cute:

When I got back home, I once again sat down to get lots more commission work done, while Kotoko and Rosie kept me company:

I love having cats… I’ve enjoyed having dogs too, and of course rats, and hamsters, and birds. But the lowest-stress pets I’ve ever had have been cats and snails. Both have such a knack for reducing my stress levels. Even the snails do. I’ll set out to deep clean the tank, with some dread because it’s such a job that requires such a careful hand and full-on attention. Yet when I’m done, it has melted my stress away.

And, being as I am someone who enjoys almost constant quiet company, thanks to the kitties I do not feel lonely during my workday. It’s really nice. I’m grateful to have them.

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Wednesday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

This was the best day of the week! The contractor was supposed to come work on our friendโ€™s future bedroom which needs to be finished ASAP. But there was a miscommunication and he didnโ€™t show. Still, I did all my chores in the morning, once again got a LOT of commission progress done, and watched almost the entire first season of Camp Cretaceous. I liked it a lot!

I spent the evening in very good company, got to go to Starbucks, and in the afternoon my polyam necklace came. Itโ€™s really beautiful and Iโ€™m going to be wearing it as much as possible. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’•

Christopher came home a little later and I had a dinner of beef tacos waiting for him. After dinner, we watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife which was great. I drew until my iPad was dying, and then we cuddled for the remainder (about half) of the movie. And after that we watched more of The Secret of Blue Water in bed. It was a very nice evening. With him working so late I didnโ€™t expect to have so much time together, I know it helps when I have all my chores done and dinner ready, thoughโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Gotta work on that so we can have more times like these.

Anyway, I definitely got my fill of affection/attention on this day, so I went to bed blissfully happy.

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Thursday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Christopher let me have a huge treat on this day (literally and figuratively)! The apatosaurus I wanted so badly!

Iโ€™ve been worried about just missing out on it since things just keep going out of stock and not coming backโ€ฆ so in exchange for cancelling my Pokรฉmon Legends: Arceus preorder, he let me have my apatosaurus. It was a no brainer, I can always get the game in the future.

I walked all the way back from Target with this big heavy box, which thankfully is still the smallest of the legacy boxes, because it has to be put together.

I couldn’t resist taking some outside photos…

I especially love the detail on the face, and being able to have it hold leaves in its mouth! ๐Ÿ˜„

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Friday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

On Friday I finally found a good place for my new dino friend, right above my computer area. I think it looks very majestic!

The afternoon and evening was very pleasant. Someone came to look at the room that needs work again, and our friend/future roommate came over in the evening. I made dinner for the three of us (salmon croquettes) and then we played Smash and Mario Golf: Super Rush for a while.

I did decently well in both games (for me). I’m terrible, terrible at Smash, which my old wrist injury doesn’t help with at all. The two times I managed to win (one being Friday night) was early matches before it started bothering me too much.

I love Ludwig, by the way. I donโ€™t have much chance to express that because there just isnโ€™t much merch or anything of him, but I adore him. I always play as him in Smash now (didn’t find Daisy as fun as I expected –still play as her in Mario Golf though).

After that, our friend played Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (for, I think, a couple of hours?) while we just enjoyed each other’s company and watched.

I think I might have to play this game myself, I never did before, and it looks so adorable. I think that was my favorite part of the evening, just sitting mostly quietly together, watching. Times like those are truly the happiest for the three of us, I think. I feel totally at peace, safe, loved.

When I’m feeling like that, nodding off, I just wish I could just fall asleep like that and wake up in bed the next morning not knowing how I got there.

โœจ๐ŸŒˆ Saturday ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

This morning I somehow coaxed Christopher outside, and we went to have breakfast together. ๐Ÿฅฐ Also picked up a small treat for our friend, since he’s showing up at some point this weekend.

I brought Picaรฑa along:

Christopher’s smile was looking unusually adorable this morning so I took a picture. I just love him so much, I’ll never get tired of looking at him smile like this. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

The lights at this place were super cool!

Last two days I also got a ton of commission work done (all nine warm-ups that I had left) which have already been posted almost everywhere. I’ll be posting them here too in a bit (I’ll post-date them though so they don’t bury this post). After that, I’ll begin my weekend housework, and then, more commissions, of course.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

An Intense First Week Of 2022! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Hello everyone! Well, this was a wild week to put it very mildly… I ended up not having time to blog at all, so everything is in a single post so I can catch up once and for all.

Sunday

Starting with last Sunday, we spent the whole weekend actually working on the future room for our friend. This was supposed to be a small, simple job, but due to issues we found we had to strip the paint off the walls, plus we also found holes that need fixing, etc…

The three of us are doing all we can on our own, and our friend even removed all of the popcorn ceiling by himself which was hellish to do and took hours:

But as for the rest, ideally we need to hire someone –and fast. The first quote we got was stupidly high and out of eight leads no one else is getting back to us. We have just a few weeks to complete the room so it’s adding a bit of stress right now for sure, especially because even if we hire someone, we still have to paint it ourselves, install the closet system, etc… hopefully we won’t have to do the whole job ourselves. ๐Ÿ˜“

Monday

Monday was a great day that ended terrible. Like, the worst. ๐Ÿ˜… But first, let me get a cute snail photo I took on this day out of the way:

That’s one of my Cuban snails. I’ve grown extremely fond of them. I love the little ridges on their shells, the way they get their bluish bodies so stubby or so long, and how they shake their shells to get things off of them. I also have a few hatchlings of my own now and they are even cuter.

Anyway, as planned over the weekend, Monday evening our friend came over and we left for Kura Sushi in Aventura. This restaurant has a conveyor belt system that we were all very excited to experience. I dressed up a bit and off we went.

Side note, but being in the back seat of the car with my two most special people in the world in front, is probably the Littlest I ever feel. I know I’m not alone in this (there’s so much art in the community of precisely this thing, lol) but being in the back seat just playing with your toys, coloring, or playing video games, while your caretaker/s discuss complicated things you can barely begin to understand so it all goes over your head, is something that gives me and many other Littles the safest, coziest, happiest feeling –bonus points if it’s raining. Even if I’m grouchy, this always makes me feel better.

I brought Ramen Noodle along on that day:

As for the restaurant itself, it was an utterly lovely experience. I really thought this would be a place we would come to again and again. The conveyor belt was really cool:

The top belt (not visible here) brings specific orders to each table. The belt you see above is where food is always rotating and passes by all tables. I tried all sorts of things, both sweet and savory. This milk tart was one of my favorites:

I also tried takoyaki for the first time (didn’t like it very much) sesame balls, and these fried rice thingies which I liked so much, I ordered it twice:

And one of these wonderful things (who knows which?) made me, and only me, very brutally ill. And now none of us wants to go again to play food poisoning roulette with our bodies at this restaurant again. ๐Ÿ˜ž Even though we loved it so much otherwise. It was such a lovely experience until that happened.

Since now I will go into detail about being sick and it’s gross, you’ve been warned. Skip to Wednesday if you don’t want to read about that.

Tuesday

So actually this started Monday night. Around… 11:30pm. I started getting stomach cramps that felt like I was being simultaneously knifed and kicked in the stomach. This lasted a long time, until my body decided to empty its bowels spectacularly, to the point that there was a non-insignificant amount of blood mixed in.

Here Christopher began to do some research while I just lay on the bedroom floor trying to disassociate from my terrible situation. Since all of my symptoms to that point matched food poisoning that could be waited out at home (even the bit of blood) there was nothing to do but stay hydrated and wait.

In between the nausea, stomach cramps, fever and headache, I did not sleep much. When I did, sometimes it was on my floor futon, sometimes it was on the floor. Sometimes it was sitting on the toilet. At some point I could not hold things in anymore, and my body, quite done emptying out of one end, decided to switch gears and empty from the other. I vomited many times (lost count, really). When the sun started to rise I still felt atrocious. And right around then, my food poisoning cramps started to improve only for my period cramps to start. Bad ones.

Christopher stayed home from work, thankfully, as I would not have been able to look after myself. I was extremely weak (legs barely holding me if I went to the bathroom) and spent the entire day queasy and in pain. But I stayed hydrated, and in the evening I was finally able to eat a mild meal that he made for me:

After eating, I was able to shower, and spend time in the couch watching TV. I was so absolutely spent from being so very sick, that I had no problem sleeping heavily once it was bedtime despite having slept on and off all of Tuesday.

Wednesday

Wednesday I was on my own again. I was able to get out of bed and do a few things, including commission work. But I also had cramps all day from my period. It was still a slow, tiring day. I feel like I spent a lot of this week in some sort of pain or discomfort and a lot of exhaustion… still, compared to Tuesday, I felt pretty well.

Thursday

Thursday was exciting because my long-wished-for t-rex came in the mail! It’s so cool and massive!

Dinosaurs make me so damn happy. I love them. Itโ€™s like with my Charlie Bears. Just utter joy when looking at my dinosaur toys, the bigger they are the happier they make me.

OH NO

Anyhow, I put him on a high shelf with my baby t-rexes and raptors. Now I just have one left that is a must have: the apatosaurus. Hopefully I can get it before it disappears from shelves.

Date Night

Thursday was also date night. We had an AppleBee’s gift card, so we decided to go out. I had an appetizer plate for my meal.

Christopher had a sandwich… I think? I took this photo before his plate came.

We hadn’t been here in a very, very long time. It’s a bit of a shocker how much these prices have gone up. I know it’s not just here, it’s everywhere, but it’s bad. Still, we really enjoyed our meal. It’s nice to have a little outing like this once in a while.

After we got home, we played Smash for a while, and then watched Don’t Look Up. Really enjoyed the movie, and just cuddled throughout rather than working on my iPad as would usually be my habit. It was nice.

The Weekend

The weekend was wonderful. By this time, I had fully recovered from my food poisoning ordeal as well as from my period. And in the evening, the Yoshi Build-A-Bear plushie that I got as a Christmas present from my friend Island came in. He’s so cute!

Friday and Saturday our friend came to spend time with us. As always, it was lovely. We hung out for a bit on Friday; I watched the two of them play Smash (he wiped the floor with Christopher, repeatedly) and then we went out to Bento for dinner. Lately though, he’s been making an effort to spoil my blog photos… ๐Ÿ˜‘

He went home soon after dinner, but Saturday we all spent even more time together.

A lot of that day was spent watching our friend create a 3D render of our back porch. I was amazed by how fast he did this, even though it took a couple of hours, it was still incredible to me, and fun to watch. I worked on a commission while this was going on, and Christopher had fun playing some of the records he’d accumulated but not yet listened to. Once the render was finished, we went out to eat again. I will try to update this post with a few images of the render later, because it was so cool.

When we got back, we played Mario Golf Super Rush for the first time. It was pretty fun.

I took a break to make cookies, and then we played some more. Then we played Smash for a while, I even won once which was a complete fluke… Wish I got a screenshot because I’m sure it’s never happening again.

Also, I think by this point I’m gonna try to main Ludwig, I just like him a lot.

Playing Smash really hurts my drawing hand, so after a few rounds I just watched the two of them play. Unlike Friday, Christopher mostly wiped the floor with our friend. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

We might have all hung out today (Sunday) too, but our friend had a very early workday on Monday, like 4:00am early. So I spent today doing lots of chores while Christopher rested (but he did help me too, and drove me back from the grocery store, and made a really wonderful dinner for us).

Since soon I’m going to be looking after both of them, I really want to get back into taking care of the house properly and on a good schedule. So I washed all the sheets and towels, deep cleaned all three bathrooms and the kitchen, refilled the critter feeders and planted more grass for the cats, did the dishes, laundry, and grocery shopping, made the beds, took care of the animals… it was a lot of work, hours and hours, but I felt pretty satisfied with the results.

Tomorrow want to deep clean the snail tank, mow the lawn, and finish a couple of commissions. I also would like to go on my walks again since the holidays got in a way of them a lot.

Christopher should be home early since his booster appointment is in the afternoon… hopefully, we hear back from someone about the room work.

I’ll post at least one finished commission tomorrow but hopefully more. I’m so grateful to everyone for their patience! ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™€๏ธ
